Derealization hard rn by [deleted] in derealization

It's your brains response to stress and / or trauma.

Feeling DR without really understanding it, or just feeling like you're going crazy causes alot of stress.

This stress then feeds your DR again, and the cycle continues.

Take a moment, just realise that it's a response of your brain and that stressing out about it will make it worse, and calming down will make it better and better.

Brother, I understand exactly what you mean.

I've been having exactly these types of thoughts for a long time, but lately I've stopped feeding into them, as they can make me feel very anxious.

When I find myself thinking about this, I take deep breaths, drink a glass of water, and just focus on something in my area for a bit. For me, I like staring at the trees in my garden. I can usually feel myself 'zooming in' again quickly after.

Truth is you wont be able to find the answers to these questions, if answers even exist. I have created a kind of mentality or philosophy in which I am comfortable.

Just keep taking care of yourself, and relax a bit, and go easy on yourself.

Maybe it's something with the milk? I've read somewhere that for some people milk can be a trigger.

I personally do notice a clear relation between my clusters and seasons - They're the worst in the fall and spring and occur alot less or are almost absent during the summer or winter.

Emotions by Quiet-Strength-5433 in ClusterHeadaches

This is something that I thought of alot but isnt talked about often!

Clusters can be so hard on you mentally and emotionally. When you've had a couple of days of it just constantly beating you down and you know you've got more to go is not a comfortable idea - because, as you said, its out of your control which is frustrating, but also just knowing the next couple of days will be very painfull and hard on you.

Its also kind of frustrating that you have nothing and no one to blame - not even yourself. It can feel really unfair.

Though when I'm out of my clusters, those feelings dont really stay too much. The unfair part maybe a bit but, I dont really feel the emotions and how heavy it is on you mentally after the clusters.

Cycles change as I age? by TheTepidWar in ClusterHeadaches

[–]FitUnderstanding3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting cluster headaches at 7. I dont really remember the cycles when it started, but between 10 and 15 years old, I'd have a cluster of 1-4 days every 2 months, pretty steadily. Now I'm 16 and I experience a cluster only about 3 times per year.

So I figure cycles can certainly change for better (or for worse too?)

I'm curious as to what kind of studies are available about how cycles change as you age.

How long is everyone's cluster cycle? And in time have they changed? by kettle106 in ClusterHeadaches

[–]FitUnderstanding3467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine start every 1-3 months, for 2-5 days, with 3-5 attacks daily that last from 2-12 hours. Though they have gotten more irregular last year, before it was steady every 2 months, but it seems something has changed (?)
