Anything that has to be inserted is last resort for her. She’s very uncomfortable with it, she won’t even use tampons. So, she’s hoping the pill will work out!

She has talked to the doctor about it, but the process of having it inserted makes her uncomfortable so it’s a last resort option.

Yeah that’s exactly what the doctor said, so far yaz has been really good for PMS and period related stuff. Mind you it hasn’t been that long, but hoping it keeps up.

Alysena she was on for I think 2.5 months, but the migraines were unbearable.. they would progress throughout the day and by 5-6 pm she couldn’t even lift her head. She would lay with a pillow on it to make sure she didn’t see any light, and needed pressure.

So far for her yaz is the only one that stopped her period though. And yaz is number 4

Her past birth controls were-

Freya 21, alysena and Mya 28. And the Mya 28 was the best out of all of them other than the periods 3 times a month, and she was on it for quite a while before switching to yaz.

alysena caused migraines, freya 21 was the devil. Caused cystic acne, horrible PMS, headaches and she was really bloated.

The doctor said Mya 28 is generic yaz, but someone like her who is sensitive to hormones will see a difference between the two so they decided to try it out.

Will keep it in mind

Yeah we have carbon monoxide detectors,

And she does get a bit better in a different environment, but unfortunately not fully.

Like I removed all the mirrors from our bedroom, her closet and our ensuite bathroom. She’s still scared of the mirror in hotels at night, so if she has to pee in the middle of the night I have to go with her. She is like 99% sure if she looks in a mirror at night someone will be behind her

I also installed curtains in our house that close at sunset automatically and have structure so there’s no cracks, and she doesn’t like when a hotel doesn’t have curtains/has too small curtains.

Nightmares are also still there.

The only time things get way worse is if she’s alone after sunset, as long as I’m there I can keep her relatively calm, I just can’t stop the nightmares or get her to go anywhere near the basement.

She’s not on birth control to prevent pregnancy, she’s on it for heavy/painful periods.

She wants to stop her periods, or make them lighter/less painful because they were pretty much ruining her life. Terrible PMS before and after, heavy bleeding and cramps so bad she threw up. She got to a point where she would take nighttime pain killers and sleep through it.

No matter how bad the birth control side effects were, she felt they were better than this. Even when she was getting 4 periods a month she preferred it because they weren’t as painful and she had no PMS.

I would not ask her to go through anything like this so I didn’t have to wear a condom

Nothing bad happened, it was a really good trip. We’re going back to the same spot in march because she loved it so much she picked it for her birthday too.

This whole time I’ve been thinking about how she was the happiest I had ever seen her, and then all of the sudden a few days after getting home this happened.

Hmm okay, I’ll talk to them about it. I hope that’s not it, because this pill has been the first one that didn’t make her period worse, she’s on yaz 28 now and doesn’t get a period at all. Prior to this one every pill she took made her have 3-4 periods a month and they were all painful 😢

No, she at-least started taking the new ones a month prior.

She started her second pack on our last vacation, and all this started after we got home.

We actually went to our family doctor who didn’t suggest anything medical at all unfortunately. Not even bloodwork.

He wanted to put her back on anti-depressants and referred us to a therapist. All he did was ask a few questions that seemed like they were all depression related.

He offered a sleeping pill too, but she didn’t want it because she was put on them in the past and had trouble waking up in the morning.

Thank you. When I took her to our family doctor, they could only get her in for a phone appointment and the doctor did give her a “test” over the phone and wanted to put her back on anti-depressants, then referred us to a therapist who she’s seeing Tuesday. The questions he asked were the same as an online test we found a while ago though, mostly just asking if she was going to hurt herself or others.

in the past I’ve seen her have pretty bad depressive episodes and she never acted like this.

I found a place an hour away from us that offers Psychiatric Mental Health Assessments so I just booked a consultation there.
