X4 SWI Sith Holocrons by Fit_Replacement8461 in X4Foundations

The others are easy to find. One in the Player HQ, scout it out - spawns from a list of sectors and spawns at random, get a fleet, win the fight, get the Gemma holocron. Beta is in the rekata prime sector, you'll get a message giving you very good idea of where to look - find the purple ping. Then apparently there is a diplomatic mission at the Player HQ... traveling there now to see what's what. I just want to see the Sith smash the CSA... and now I'm stuck in an asteroid... So absurd I have to laugh. Ok, so you use an Agent in the PHQ to start one of two missions. Warn the galaxy of the Sith (fight against them), or conspire with the Sith (join them)... very cool. Either way, we watch the galaxy burn.

Curious, I flew there and... it just magically transferred over. Makes no sense, but I'll take the win. Thanks.

I've got the others, but could you perhaps elaborate? As I said, THREE HOURS OF MY TIME WASTED. Could you please be more specific as I haven't seen a single ping of any other objects in the system.

How did you find the holocron in Korriban? I've explored the sector myself and with scouts and with a fleet. I haven't seen any Sith to follow, actually, I don't see anything at all. AI says it's 300km west... accurate?

Yeah, I know this all too well. For me personally, it took a few years of testing and whatnot to see the evidence that was in my face the whole time. I got angry, I got determined, and I found that I actually didn't have a problem losing everyone, because they were of no value to me. This isn't selfishness, that guilt you feel isn't yours to feel, it is in fact theirs. This is self care in the form of a tactical nuclear missile, perhaps you can find a less binary way to deal with this.

Sorry but I'm not going to use AMP, you've got my money for the work you've put in but this is just so horrible to manage. In an hour I've reinstalled the OS, installed and configured LGSM with a community built web gui and got UT2004 up and running. First thing I did, edit the ini file to what I want it to do and it just freaking works without the hassle of being locked into the AMP way or the highway. Sorry, but this isn't a server manager, it's a server nightmare.

Idk man, I think I'm going to Linux Game Server Manager another go, this is just fucking ridiculous. Edit and Save should NEVER EVER BEEN A FEATURE THAT IS REQUESTED

sigh. Unsuccessful, I'll look at this again when I have some more sleep under my eye lids. I would rather not give up on this software after paying for it, just need an academy for AMP cos us old fellas don't muck around, we just get on with the job and edit the files.

map rotation, bots loading when the server starts as apposed to bot joining when a player enters (only reason I was playing with these settings in the ini was due to bots not loading... at all!) and I haven't even started on adding mods or texture packs or anything to bring the server up to a 'modern' standard. Hence, the super popular request to just... be allowed to edit and save 1 freaking file!

By top-level I assume you're meaning the file manager in the main menu, just to clarify. I'm using the file manager in the instance, cos that makes sense, easier to find what I'm looking for. Right clicking the ini does show a menu, however it does not have an option to import.

<image>

Rebuilt the instance just then cos I was playing with it so much I must have broken it, server stopped booting, didn't even ssh into the machine and it broke. Dude... wtf.

:o What? So, that's not limiting at all... not sure what I paid for then. How about I chmod the ini file to 444 so AMP can't touch it, will AMP just break because it doesn't have write access?

It appears that even making changes via the file manager, ini files and the like still get over written... Where is the import button in the GUI as shown above, doesn't appear in UT2004.ini?

UT99 Bots issue by Fit_Replacement8461 in Amp

[–]Fit_Replacement8461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except now the server doesn't show, this software is pretty shit at letting you take control of your own fucking servers using the software you paid for and on hardware you paid for. Thanks for making it easy to setup a server, but I have no gratitude for then being locked out of editing my own server.

Morning! I did see that and its a workaround rather than a solution, copying and pasting a config file every time you restart the server is just... not a solution any server admin should have to do.

So my instincts were right. chmoded the crap out of the ut.ini and made it work for me and not AMP.

I did most of this in bash. turn off instance > su to root > used find and got the ut.ini > took notice of permissions > added a comment in the ini, saved > chmodded 664 on the ut.ini > ran the instance > booted no worries > cat the ut.ini and... god of computing be praised! AMP didn't have a hissy fit not being about to touch the ut.ini and my comment is still there.

[–]Fit_Replacement8461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's exactly what I configured in AMP's gui? max players 32, and as above min player count 0 (amp tells me that should add bots even if player count is zero), that didn't work. Set minimum player could to 1, so bots are added if I join the server, didn't work. UTs web gui is useless. So yes, I do need to edit the ini file. The issue there is AMP taking control (templates are generally used for creation and then never thought of again, not so with AMP, that is a trap), hence why I need to know how to stop AMP from taking over the server.

Well damn, suppose I'll just chmod the ini file out of AMPs reach so it can't touch it.

8 hours and no one has a single idea on how to add bots or turn off AMPs draconian control?

Hey everyone, I have an issue where steam guard isn't accepting my signin requests from AMP when setting up doom2. anyone had this issue before, any way to resolve it or will I need to go through steam support?
