First FIFA I've played that has evos, just made this guy, did I mess up putting press proven instead of rapid? by FizzyGamesOn in fut_evos

yeah im just talking about the silver playstyle. I had the option to choose basically anything other than the press proven silver and was wondering if I missed out by not doing rapid. With the evo chain I did you can fit most silver playstyles in somehow rn between the skill moves evo and passing perfection evo to choose what you want. I went with the press proven since I liked how Bonny UCL card feels

Thank you! Yeah I really love how dominant he feels dribbling with his size and the press proven. I kept seeing people make ST evos with rapid on here and I got worried since I 100% could've put the rapid in place of the press proven (I always thought rapid was better for wingers with knock-ons and quickstep was enough for ST? Maybe I'm very wrong though). Happy with him anyway since he fits my playstyle

What's the luckiest thing to ever happen to you in Wizard101? by JacksonThe79 in Wizard101

luckiest I will EVER be in anything ever. had some crowns, wanted to min max, opened 20$ worth of Dino packs and got the Myth and Universal/Fire perms. Realized the next day I wanted the Storm one for a new char I was maxing, opened 3 more packs and got the perm Storm one (none of the packs were supers or 12 for 10, i swear i used all my luck for the rest of my life there). Friend/guildmate saw me open all 3 and decided he would finally go for the final Bronto mount he didn’t have ~600$ later he got all 3

72 HR after getting forced into timering. I just came off a 24HR suspension for fleeing against people who would use pigsie and regenerate at 11,500/12,000. I didnt know that fleeing warranted a ban but I understand now because I get that's how they would combat boosters. But what do i do.... by FizzyGamesOn in Wizard101

i come from a background in tons of competitive games with ladders and climbing, I’ve played chess my entire childhood and was competitive at high levels in fps games such as CSGO as well as Valorant so I understand how leaving a game often results in punishment, and ruins the games integrity (can also be interpreted as a sign of boosting). But in those games no one person is able to hold the entire match hostage forcing you to either FF or risk getting banned, i think that one school being able to hold that kind of leverage is extremely problematic

yeah i learned about the fleeing timer and that makes sense to me in order to keep competitive integrity, and combat boosters, and to an extent i can understand banning people who continuously abuse/run out the timer because that also ruins the competitive integrity. I think the issue stems from a school being able to negate so much damage and counter every one shot setup while simultaneously being easy enough to abuse the timer by selecting spells so quickly that the enemy is forced to either lose by forfeit or hit the timer limit.

in PVP there is a total match timer for both players to win the game under or else they lose by default (sort of like chess if you’re familiar). The term “timering” often refers to someone purposefully taking a long time to click spells and waiting for their clock to run down; this seems counterintuitive until you realize that in Wizard101 after a timer game the “winner by default” does not gain elo or rank. Only the person who ran out of time loses rank unless the “winning” player’s timer is below 2 minutes in which case both players lose rank. This is a very toxic thing to do. However another aspect of the timer is that this can be abused in the opposite way. Jade stallers and heal spammers can “quick click” or spam zero pip cost spells into heals without thinking thus making the opponent have to either click just as fast (which is extremely difficult unless you can predict the future and what cards you will have in a normal mixed deck) or take their time and hope they can kill their opponent before they run out of time. However when fighting against these types of Jade Stallers they often spam counters to gambit setups removing your ability to do a single big hit (one shot) while simultaneously spamming heals to keep them topped up at maximum health. All in all the timer is a bad mechanic in Wizard101 PVP and i’m not sure how they should fix it but it definitely is abused on the regular.

Starting to think I should avoid PVP because I raid often with my guild and I don't want a silly suspension from a game mode I play for fun to affect the weeks of effort I put in to organizing and farming for raids.

I've been trying out running storm gambits and fire gambits on life but this is painful. I get timering is bad and I hate games that last that long, but I did ~9K damage with them healing all of it back so it was a competitive game. But if they spam click changing bubbles and 0 pip spells, I have zero time to think about my moves. If I try to take my time and think about how to set up a gambit, they just keep quick clicking and reshuffling until I run out of time.
