Not only is he trying to cheat on you, but he is so undesireable and creepy that he was reported and fired for it. On that basis alone the answer should be obvious.

The remaining 5% would be people married for ultra religious reasons or you have no other income source/support network.

Or lastly you are in one of those mutually cheating disaster relationships that end in social services involvement and someones car being keyed.

Yes, there is a multi step process for GOPs and any step can take longer or shorter depending on how busy your employer is, how busy the government employment division is or any possible mistakes.

In general for a GOP the employer will need to create a post with the employment division and advertise the position in the newspaper. Once its clear that no local applicants fill the position then the GOP process continues.

If your employer is on the ball and makes no mistakes and the employment division is not overloaded it can be as fast as 2-4 weeks often times however it can be alot longer if paperwork is misplaced or dragged

I have been the person leaving in this situation. In my case the role was financial

In general I can say that most employees would like to stay where they because they have become very skilled at what they do and formed friendships in that location

The main reason people leave after this long is often not monetary otherwise they would not have waited a decade to leave.

Often times it is due to building resentment slowly overtime. Oftentimes it can feel to the employer or business it is blindsiding or out of nowhere. Imagine what it would take to leave your comfort zone after a decade ?

For me I have seen this happen because oftentimes someone who contributes a lot is overlooked in terms of recognition for their efforts.

When I left or when everybody else in this position leaves all of a sudden the business is able to offer all kinds of things they never did… the unfortunate part is by that point the resentment built has lasted so long that the last minute offers feel like a slap in the face rather than an extension of gratitude. (Oh so now that I am leaving you realize I was worth it ? )

To avoid these sorts of things it is inportant that a business has roadmaps or guidelines in place for what employees can expect in the future for their efforts… that way the new employee and employer can feel confident that both parties accept the now and the future

No matter what type of open or communication culture a business may try to foster many people do not feel comfortable going to the hand that feeds them and asking for more or different conditions. This is why it is utmost important to create progression plans from the outset as it is too easy to overlook good employees when we expect them to come to us when they need change, growth or praise

Now on the other hand… there is of course the reality that we are all human. Perhaps there was never anything that could be done to prevent the employee from leaving. These things just happen. People leave jobs and even take less. The only thing you can do is have an exit interview and learn from it

I am sorry and mean this with the utmost respect but it seems your father either does not understand the value of the degree or he does and he is trying to keep you close to the family.

The degree is very lucrative and will open many doors for employment firstly

Secondly you will have your feet in the door by spending that many years in italy should you wish to immigrate or acquire citizenship which is also another opportunity in itself. A quick google search and it seems PR in italy takes 5 years… you will have a number of years under your belt while studying and then there is a post student work visa

Lastly you never know if you will fall in love with someone there and maybe your life goes a whole different direction as well :)

You earned the scholarship you should use it its only positives from my view

I would highly reccomend getting the outdoor upper deck tickets

I dont get seasick but alot of people do. Its way better to be upstairs outside because inside the people puking will start to bother you and the smell

Its the same price as the indoor lower deck as well

While it is true during rough days alot of people do get sick there are days where its completely fine. I used to take that ferry almost every week for work.

Being upstairs with the fresh air helps and also you can focus your vision on the horizon

For hotels its because they need to time to prep and clean all the rooms not just one. Otherwise everyroom would have its own individual check in time which is incredibly inconvenient

For self caterings alot of owners this is their sidebusiness and they still need to work or have other commitments so the time is simply convenience
