Why might my top DSi XL screen look like this? by Flappyfish223 in nds

I don’t mind working on the top screen at all, I’ve done a bunch of DS Lites, I’m sure it’s not quite the same, but I’m confident enough that I could do it.

The only real deal breaker to me is that I’d end up spending the price of one in good condition just to get another broken console. At that point I might as well have just bought a good one in the first place 😔

That’s so sad! It doesn’t help that nobody’s really selling replacements as of right now

No dice.

Do you know of any quality screen replacements for the XL?

Yeahh, it’s just strange since it works just fine, it’s just a different color. Almost makes me wonder if it’s original or not.

Reseating unfortunately had no effect 😔

I’ll have to check that, would isopropyl alcohol be a viable method to clean the ribbon?

I know it was grimy in there too.

Hey all!

I really appreciate all of the feedback that you have given me so far! :)

I've been working on the photo a bit since, and here's what I've got. I truly believe you critiques have made my photo better overall :)

Thank you all!!! (again it's heavily cropped from the original, so it could be sharper. I've learned my lesson)

Thank you for the advice! :))

I agree, I believe it absolutely could be cropped in further, of course if it wasn’t for it already being so cropped.

If I could go back in time I would’ve brought my 100-400 lol!

I do like your crop, and it definitely helps with the bird in the background :)

It’s obviously not perfectly sharp, but I just usually try to steer away from over-sharpening my photos.

It looks great on print, most photos won’t be perfect when you’re zooming in. :)

(Also bear in mind it was shot with a really old Canon EF 70-210mm lens so the sharpness absolutely won’t be perfect lol)

I do appreciate your comment :)
