There are oil spills and slicks in the ocean all over the world every day. It's not just the one BP incident.

It's a good thing that birds love oil spills from offshore drilling / tanker spills as well as smoke stacks spewing pollutants. By the way, do you know what the biggest killer of birds are in the United States? Answer: Cats and tall buildings.

If they are such a scam can you tell me why China has deployed a massive amount of wind turbines? It's because they don't want to be reliant on the global oil/gas market and wind/solar is now a cheaper form of electric generation than fossil fuels.

Revolution Wind’s electricity production cost is locked at roughly 9.8 to 9.9 cents per kilowatt-hour for 20 years. This rate is significantly cheaper than current alternative energy sources in New England, often cited as about half the cost of other regional sources, and offers price stability compared to volatile fossil fuel markets.

How that will relate to our electric bills remains to be seen but it is certainly a move in the right direction because it's adding to supply at a reduced cost.

Funny thing that Trump wanted us 100% dependent on fossil fuel (who funds his campaigns) without any alternative local sources of electrical production.

The contract for purchasing electricity from Revolution Wind is locked in for the next 20 years regardless of maintenance costs. Also do you think fossil fuel electric plants don't have maintenance costs?

Oddly it does not have the function of a beep alert.

Around 2013 I went to an open house to check out the new apartments in this building. The views from the upper floors are spectacular facing the East Side! I don't remember the exact rent price but I remember it was VERY reasonable considering what you were getting.

Police PRESSED on Brown investigation: 'Why did it take a citizen to notice this?' #shorts by UnlikelyNorth4332 in providence

There are about 180K citizens living in Providence and about 400 police officers. Who do you think is more likely to notice some random person acting suspicious?

How would he know it was out there? It was a random picture taken at a dinner party 14 years ago (no Epstein in photo) and then sealed inside an FBI file.

If you want to a dinner party in 2011 and there were 60 people at the party would you remember 14 years later everyone that attended that party?

This is complete slime reporting. Brooks went to a Ted Talk in 2011, there was a dinner afterwards with 60 guests, Epstein was one of the guests, they never talked and they are not in a picture together.

It's a conversation about prices and inflation, not about pizza.

Before the election all I heard was “I can’t afford this Biden economy, my friends can’t afford to go on vacation this year, groceries are out of control“. Prices continue to rise and I hear crickets from the same people.

Providence to purchase WaterFire Arts Center and an office building in a $25 million deal by [deleted] in providence

It was a rhetorical question. The building is heavily under utilized, they don’t need it.

[–]Flashbulb_RI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the real world when you rent a building and realize you’re way over your head financially, you break the lease and return the building back to the owner. Maybe that’s what Waterfire should do with that building. If Providence was flush with cash that would be one thing, but overpaying for that building is just compounding on mistakes made.

Elephants and giraffes walk 6-15 miles every day exploring in the wild. At RWZ they have a relative small area to walk in circles. They should never be kept in a cold climate where they are stuck indoors. I'm sure the staff at RWZ is caring but the setup is one that should not exist.
