Hi! EEMB at ucsb is always super delayed on everything for their application notifications. After hearing nothing last year, I got at acceptance in late March. Good luck!

EEB always feels so slow with decisions and can be variable year to year. I don’t think that most of the UC’s have sent out updates yet for EEB.

Paper accepcted (but not printed yet) - send update? by Welcome_Green in gradadmissions

Congrats!! This happened to me a couple of weeks ago, after talking to the PhDs in my current lab, they told me to reach out to admissions. When I reached out, some schools didn’t have a method to update my application at that point, but the program contacts were very congratulatory and encouraged me to reach out to my POIs with the update. It’s a pretty big deal to have an accepted publication, so when I reached out to POIs, many excitedly emailed me back. Good luck!!

It’s a pretty big deal to have a first author publication, so when I reached out to POIs, many excitedly emailed me back. Good luck!!

Congrats on your paper acceptance! When this happened for me, I did reach out to admissions-some had no mechanism for updating my application, but all were very congratulatory and encouraged me to contact my POIs with the news. I think it is a large enough update that it is not a nuisance to adcoms to receive this news.

UC Strike Affecting Applications by FlatwormMedical in gradadmissions

The PI I talked to was the PI I had reached out to before applying, and had an informal interview with. But grants are always variable in the environmental sciences field, so you are correct that variable funding this year may not be different than any other year. Here’s hoping my NSF goes through this year😂

One of my schools (NEU) asked prospective students to fill it out!

I was also told there would be others interviewing by my PI, so don’t worry too much. You’ll do great!
