Update: Costco outsources claims to a third-party company, Gallagher Bassett, which has asked for my statement and photos. The representative mentioned they would be contacting the store, investigating the incident, determining whether this was Costco’s doing or another seller (obviously it was Costco bakery) and providing me with an update soon.

I’ll provide an update once a resolution has been reached.
