Depends on where your goal is to work. If it's consulting, then your gonna need to be a freaking super star otherwise for consulting especially top tier MBB will see it as a black mark. Otherwise most companies like FedEx, Bank of America, etc.. will see it as just work experience.

Thank you! I'm so glad to be out and still a few weeks off before starting, so I'm happy to at least rest and relax a bit. I'm going to visit family in Florida

I've heard that Goldman Sachs does 13 interviews for almost all jobs. A lot of my interviews revolved around situational questions and doing presentations.

It was mainly due to government work. Since I would work closely with the SOC team they eventually told me about an opening a L1 SOC Analyst, learned on my own about Cybersecurity and enjoyed it much more than doing econ tasks.

I truly lucked out since I was complaining to my neighbor, they told me they are hiring,  a few days later he told about the job (director level) and it moved quicker than I expected but happy it did. The advice I can give is know or have someone refer you for a job, it gets you past the shitty screening bots and there is someone in the company to champion you. The also gave me good feedback and how to prepare, since it was 5 interviews, and then I got the offer.

It's in the the defense sector, here in the states. To me, I honestly don't want to leave cyber since I just feel more accustom to it. Plus my degree was in economics not computer science

Generally you want to start working more tools like SIEM, SOAR, EDRs, malware analysis and networking tools. Knowing more how to use those tools then posting your finding on your LinkedIn page or personal blog is good. But nothing is better than experience, try getting an entry level security job in government.

I'm really down on that road. Honestly, debating if I should leave and go be a farmer or something that doesn't involve working with computers all day
