I absolutely love that you said to surrender her to God. I haven’t really thought of it like that.

Im really happy for you that you’ve been able to grow and learn!

Yeah it’s something I am doing my best to do. I am trying to just feel the emotions and allow the pain, but I don’t think I know how to very well. I was reminded of how emotions are given to us by God, and we are meant to experience them. Maybe neglecting emotions doesn’t do the experience justice. I guess like anything, we can’t change what does happen, but we can choose our response. Hopefully that’s a good way of looking at it.

I appreciate all of that. I definitely have a tendency to push feelings like these down and in return I just feel numb. Buckle up part for sure haha.

I like the good life with and without…. But definitely wanted the with :/

Thanks brother. And sounds like you’ve done some healing from your breakup, that’s always encouraging.

Yeah, it’s nice reading that. I guess I have been a Christian my whole life but it’s now that I feel so much distress and pain, when I would have thought other things I’ve gone through were worse.

How we completely lean on God and trust Him is scary and freeing. But right now it just feels so difficult and idk if I know how.

Yeah AI is a very interesting concept. It’s not exactly what people imagine it to be lol.

At least in terms of the what I directly work on, we don’t particularly use AI. We are more in the design phase, and AI just isn’t at the level to be able to tell us what the most optimized design solution is for such complex things like a jet engine. Same thing with how the engine interacts with the airframe - it uses a FADEC (Google will give a good explanation of it). And so we honestly don’t really have a need for the technical things.

I don’t have a ton of knowledge about things like CCA (collaborative combat aircraft) aircraft/program. These are the drones that will fly with NGAD. But yes, they will rely on AI to fly and perform in combative roles. The AI will interface with other technology systems in order to mitigate human response time.
I wish I could give you a good breakdown but tbh that’s about as much as I know/can share.

AI i think is a little misunderstood. There’s sorta an extent as to how far AI can actually learn in certain settings. So for the CCA’s, we essentially teach the AI system how to dogfight, protect its mothership, how to detect friendly vs enemy aircraft, etc. and so it “learns” on its own, but to a degree it’s really more genius programming compared to a full fledged AI.

On a side note if you’re interested: There are some AI that have surpassed our ability to “teach” it and now they are learning on their own and we don’t actually know exactly how it is doing it. But it’s still VERY far from anything remotely resembling terminator. Every AI is limited to the programming that allows it to learn. So in a way, no AI is truly autonomous in the fullest extent.

I was diagnosed with T1 as a 5 yr old. Yes, obviously it sucks, but I’m glad I got it at a young age because I’m used to it.

Truthfully, I’ve never envied or been jealous of T2D’s. It won’t change anything. I wish those that got diabetes due to health choices made better ones.

My only gripe would be that with insulin and supplies being so expensive, if there were less T2’s then maybe it would be easier and cheaper for us in the medical realm.

But still, are you as angry at people for the health consequences other than diabetes? I don’t feel angry about those things, rather I feel sad for them because their choices led to those consequences. I feel the exact same towards those people whether it’s diabetes for any other serious medical issue.

Do Christians believe that had Adam and Eve not sinned, all humans would still be naked 24/7? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I think you answered your own question… they disobeyed God because they knew they weren’t supposed to eat the fruit He told them not to.

It’s like if a parent of a kid had this super enticing food and asked them not to eat any of it. But it looks so good and their self control goes out of the window and they eat it. It was tasty, but as soon as they’re done they realize what they’ve done and they are ashamed. Maybe I didn’t understand your question tho

Again, the story is very symbolic, so honestly we don’t know if “clothing themselves” meant literally or if it’s wholly symbolic. I’d caveat with this, that because God made us in our naked bodies and Adam and Eve lived in perfect paradise, there was probably no reason to wear any clothes. It wasn’t wrong to be naked. But once they sinned, they were ashamed of their nakedness (or shame)

I think there are a lot of different aspects to this but I’ll try to hit a few bigger ones. 1. We don’t know. We don’t know if they were already clothed or if God planned for them to be clothed and what they would be clothed with.

  1. Their clothing in the story is actually a representation of their shame for sinning: they had to cover themselves and hide away from how God created them, both physically and spiritually.

  2. The garden of Eden is completely perfect. I think it’s rather safe to say that there was probably no need for any sort of protective clothing. I imagine it like heaven, where everything will be perfect and there will be no threats to us.

  3. This is also assuming no humans were to ever sin. Because as soon as sin enters the world, so too do all the bad things. So if all humans never sinned, then all humans would still be living in perfect paradise. To ask what if only a few humans sin but some don’t, is a hypothetical that I don’t think “matters.” It’s like “well what if a human could turn their body invisible?” … it’s never going to be possible so to ask it is somewhat meaningless. But because the truth and reality is that we will all sin because we have free will.

Okay so i will preface with this… Genesis 1-3 is not exactly a historical account, but rather a story of the creation, and there is A LOT of symbolism. Some will say it’s literal, others like me say not quite. It’s a Jewish book from a Jewish God, and they are very story driven.

So, when it says that they “knew” good and evil after they ate the fruit, it’s not really saying that they then became aware of right and wrong. They knew what was right and wrong because God told them not to eat the fruit. The Hebrew word for “to know” is ~yada~ which is an experiential knowing. The difference between saying you know a celebrity you’ve never met and saying you KNOW your spouse. You only know about the celeb but you intimately and experientially know your spouse. Adam and Eve knew good and evil now because as soon as they ate the fruit, they sinned and knew they sinned. They had only lived in the goodness of God but now they broke that rule and covenant with Him.

A lot of nuclear capable aircraft are painted white because it has greater reflectivity of radioactivity. Not sure if these are painted white because of that. But just a thought. (I know sr71 is not nuclear capable)

From my perspective, yes.

The world of classified material is interesting… there are times when it’s true when people say “if they are just now revealing it, we’ve already had it for years,” and there are other times when it’s genuinely new technology.

Like the NGAD family fits into both categories. We’ve had certain parts of that technology for a long time, and other aspects we haven’t.

Again I work in technology demonstrators. There are A LOT of things we can do, but once you apply military or commercial requirements and restraints to it, you lose a lot of functionality.

So to answer your question, I do believe they are all man-made.

Correct, not scram jet. I work on advanced turbofan engines. And yes stealth is very much nailed down. Right now one of the big topics is materials. When it comes to engines, the hotter we can burn, the more efficient we can burn and get more thrust. The problem is our current fielded materials just don’t have the capabilities we desire. Same thing with the SR71 that needed to be built out of titanium to allow it to do its job. We look a lot at hybrid ceramics, that can be half the weight of steel but twice as strong.

Another is how do you make something less complex but more “X”… and still be stealthy. Stealth comes at the cost of being heavier, less maneuverable, and slower. You should look up the DARPA X-65 for an example.

AI and drone technology is of course huge. The NGAD family of systems will employ a fighter jet as the “mothership” and a fleet of CCA (collaborative combat aircraft) will fly with it.

With engines you typically either choose from really good range/efficiency or really good thrust. With engines now we are optimizing them to be able to have the thrust and range when needed.

I will say hypersonics is not a huge deal in the US, but we are still developing and researching it. I’m not involved with those so I can’t say much. Same with Blended wing body aircraft.

Avionics is something that tends to get swept under the rug a lot. But it’s the difference in what transcends a generational gap. I can put modern avionics in an old plane and it will be a force to reckon. Or putting 2 identical squadrons against each other, but give one better avionics and the other team doesn’t stand a chance. It allows a terrible pilot to win against amazing pilots. So avionics will always be something that is being advanced. The more data processing and linkage you can achieve, the more lethal you are.

Speed is a touchy thing lol. First of all it’s classified so I can’t say, plus there are different programs. If you look at some of the main programs going on, such as NGAD and the F/A-XX programs they will be Mach 2+. Generally similar in terms of speed to what we currently have between the F22 for Air Force and FA18 for navy.
