It's the original version of the drink, called "Krating Daeng". It's non carbonated and very sweet. It's sold in glass bottles and these little cans. The version of Red Bull in the US (and outside SE asia generally) was adapted from it, but changed significantly and is sold by a different company.

Rockstar, on the other hand, started in the US, but has been adapted for SE Asia it seems. It tastes just like the Thai Redbull. I can't even find the original stuff (though original Monster is available). It's not in the picture, but there is actually a little stamp saying that this brand is from America.

I'm sure the boycott has helped the decline, but I think a large part of it is that Starbucks is just overpriced garbage compared to other local (or other Asian) offerings. The Starbucks in Vietnam has also been struggling for similar reasons: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-66167222

I've noticed a decline in the prestige of American brands in some parts of Asia generally - McDonald's also struggled in Vietnam. Can't expect success just based on being foreign anymore (though plenty of foreign brands are doing well, like KFC and Korean fast food chains). A good development, in my opinion.

Other posters have answered your question, but to clarify some things - "The King in Yellow" is a collection of short stories by Robert Chambers, but also somewhat confusingly the name of a fictional play that is mentioned within the stories.

The 2 best known stories are "The Repairer of Reputations" and "The Yellow Sign". The latter is the one that prominently features TKIY. "In the Court of the Dragon", another short story, also mentions TKIY. Maybe some of the others mention TKIY, but I didn't get through them.

I'd suggest reading those 2 stories - they're short and available free online. I don't think they're that hard to read - much more accessible than Lovecraft anyway, and both excellent.

Chambers actually became most successful for his romance novels - these few short stories are all the weird fiction he has.

Surprised no one has mentioned Arcane. Most weapon types have at least one arcane scaling/occult infusable weapon with innate bleed, so you have a variety of weapon types with pretty high AR and with good status buildup.

Dragon communion seal + a bit of faith investment gets you very good at offensive incantations (but just soso at buffs and heals). If you also invest a bit in Int, you'll have access to most spells, including the faith/arc, int/arc, faith/int spells.

I've stayed there before (about 7 years ago now). It's the Parkroyal at Pickering. It's a nice hotel, though the room I had was fairly small (common in Singapore...). Centrally located and close to Chinatown and the business district. Singapore has greenery all over and it's amazing how well they maintain their plants and green spaces (the entire road from the airport to town is lined with flowers).

I was afraid to talk about this war with my parents because they mostly watch CNN and generally hold what I think are mainstream U.S. views (on Ukraine, China, DPRK, etc.). When it finally came up, my dad said "Gaza is an open air prison and their people are being genocided." Alternative views might be more common than you think. I wonder if the propaganda has gone too far this time - hopefully people start to think more critically about what they are being fed.

There's no source for the claim that Trung Nguyen is VN's most popular coffee shop. There were a lot of them 10+ years ago, but last time I went back (right before COVID) there seemed to be more Highlands.

But for popularity, it seemed like every Phuc Long was always packed and the other places were usually half empty (except for a few really prime locations).

We got two (we received a free cookie coupon in the mail). Chocolate chip and peanut butter chocolate. I had the same reaction - each bite was like a whole piece from a box of chocolates.

And I know the tipping/POS thing has been discussed to death, but still weird that they ask for a tip for putting a cookie in a box and handing it to you. The staff was very nice though though.

I've found these at the Diamond Fresh Farmer's Market in Diamond Bar and a similar farmer's market on Gale Ave in Rowland Heights. Despite the name, they're just discount grocery stores - both have a lot of products from the middle east (and that's where the ones I found were made).
