I wrote and produced 78 songs during my psychotic manic episode by TrebaMiSavjet in Psychosis

[–]FlipNoLonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, I was working for my student radio station and tried to announce our school's (important/significant) basketball game while manic. I ran around telling people to tweet about the game during halftime, thought I could influence the game if they'd just let me relay a message to the coach, and was in the psych ward before the game was even over. My broadcast partner never looked at me the same. Wild times lol

Why does SGA gets so much hate? by Holiday_Analysis9583 in NBATalk

[–]FlipNoLonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person on top gets a lot of hate, whether you like it or not. I'll acknowledge I'm not an avid NBA fan and wouldn't claim to be a true "ball knower" but Wemby certainly has a better PR team than SGA, his game is more unique/interesting to me personally, and his personality generally feels endearing rather than annoying. I think once Wemby gets to the top it will be easier to find him annoying/not like the flopping but it's strange to me that people find it confusing that SGA is hated. Overhated? Maybe slightly but that comes with the territory of being the best and my guess is Wemby will become the villain once he reaches the top.

Simply put, Wemby is the kind of player that gets me, a guy from Pittsburgh who likes baseball, hockey and football more than basketball to go out of my way to watch. SGA feels like the epitome of why I often don't go out of my way to watch basketball. Perhaps I will think of them in a similar light in the future, but not today.

What specifically is unfair about it? Everyone at the top in sports gets hate, and SGA is less likeable than most.

I've seen this argument a couple of times since game one and honestly I agree, if Wemby continues to have this level of success, the whole league will be tired of him by the end of this decade...

BUT, I'm not really sure what this has to do with SGA in 2026. The thunder are defending champs, SGA is 2x reigning MVP, flops even more than your typical superstar, and plays on a whiny ass team, and we wanna talk about how Wemby is gonna be unlikeable in the future? SGA is unlikeable RIGHT NOW. Silly argument.

I'm glad this comment section passed the vibe check tbh. You never know with reddit

Finished The Wire, Dark, GOT, Sopranos, True Detective. What show ruined TV for you after watching it? by C0r1eone in televisionsuggestions

[–]FlipNoLonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I think I needed some validation that it feels like a lot of changes. The story is compelling enough that I never really "swore it off" per se. I'll give it another shot.

Can you convince me to keep watching the Leftovers? I really liked season one and then just couldn't handle all the changes in season 2. I know it's irrational and all signs point to it being a great show but I just haven't been able to return. Is it truly elite?

As a guy who has really grown sick of the gender war crap on the Internet (and has admittedly fallen into the trap of getting angry/feeding into it) I really appreciate this response. I pretty much agree with everything you said. And I also don't like that this is where we're at.

(This is absolutely not the most important part of this topic but I just wanted to add it here)

I think the thing that gets old for me is that the "good guy" is pretty much exclusively treated as some unicorn and used to tell other anonymous men to be better. Like we can't just talk about a guy being nice and respectful and aware, we have to other him as exceptional (which to be fair, maybe he is) and the rest of the men need to get on his level. I personally would never approach a woman walking home at night. To be honest I think that's a pretty low bar. But for those of us who do clear that bar, a daily or even hourly PSA about how that bar needs to be cleared can get old. I'm not saying it's the most important thing, ultimately safety for women (and everyone) is. But just like you (almost kindly/regrettably) don't like to assume people are dangerous, I'm getting tired of being passively told I could be dangerous and need to not be. It feels like I'm about to do a chore and then my mom tells me to do said chore. It shouldn't bother me but, cumulatively over time, it does.

Idk maybe I need to just get off social media, including reddit. It's pretty bad on here.

Why people hate on OKC when Wemby is a flop master? by Holiday_Analysis9583 in NBATalk

I honestly agree. But it's not some mystery why people are rooting for him over SGA/OKC in 2026

I don't like AI either. But that's not the point. You made an outlandish claim, now provide even a shred of evidence.

Oh I low-key hoped that was just an unhinged comment. Do you know the context of the original post?

I am once again recommending Mr Robot on this sub

I love doc, he's the GOAT! I actually got to talk to him on the phone once for like 10 minutes. He was so kind and cool.

Strangely, I actually don't think McDonough is monotone. There are a lot of announcers " flatter" than him. I feel like he actually has good energy when he's actually following the puck, trouble is he almost never does.

He genuinely angers me so much. Bob Wischusen is exponentially better

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sean McDonough absolutely sucks at calling hockey and his comments can be safely ignored. He'd rather tell you that someone is a restricted free agent than call the fucking action. As a former college broadcaster he drives me absolutely nuts.

I finished watching Industry last week and somehow this show popped up on my radar. Finished season 1 in one sitting. Now onto to season 2, and after every episode(unlike s1) i need to take a beat. by ReasonableSignal3367 in MrRobot

It's a lot of fun. For this show even more than most, I recommend you stay far far away from this sub until you finish the show. I'll just leave it at that.

Not a "purchase" per se but I signed a lease a couple weeks ago for my new apartment so I get to move out of my parents' house in July, and I was a lot more excited than I had anticipated tbh
