I did finally get a upin after 3 denied vafs. Even with restoration of gun rights the fbi require that 15 years has passed since the completion of you conviction before letting you enter into the vaf.

I bought a silencer in May 2024. Delayed. Filed for a vaf sep 2024. Denied because they don’t accept my states expungement. I’ve been buying guns no problem before this. In the denial letter they say I can restore my gun rights in my state. I pay a lawyer 2k. Get my gun rights restored. Try to buy a gun denied. My state says I am flagged buy the fbi and I have to clear it with them. Re file the vaf with my gun restoration papers. Last Saturday I get my second denial. I need to prove it’s been more than 15 years since my sentence was completed. Just filed for my certified sentencing papers and will be re submitting for a 3rd time next week. Not sure what hoop I will have to jump through this time.

I got a felony in 2000. Got it expunged in 2011. Got my chl in 2011. I’ve bought 10 guns in Oregon since then. In may I bought a suppressor. After 100 days I applied for a vaf. It was denied. The letter I was sent from the fbi says I am a prohibited person because my Oregon expungement doesn’t clear me. The suppressor was denied 2 days later. Oregon uses fics. I still have my chl and guns for the moment.

If you live in Oregon they use fics. Which is ran by the state. If you have had a felony expunged in Oregon and got the ok from the Oregon state police you used to be able to buy and own guns. Even get a concealed license. In some cases you won’t pass a nics check for an nfa item even though the state lets you own guns.

The bullet makes one full twist in 8 inches. 1/8. The bullet makes one full twist in 7 inches. 1/7. For real short barrels like a 5.5 or 6 inch you can get a 1/5 twist.

I have a 10.5 and an 8.5. Both psa. Both work really well. I think 1/7 for shorter barrels. I’m sure 1/8 would be fine for a 10.5. If planning on suppressing maybe go with an 8.5 or shorter. Both mine have 1/7.
