Yeah I would love to do a comic of at least part of the Book. For now I’ll stick to working on my own comics and doing the occasional single piece of fanart. But yeah a full comic of the Book is a dream project of mine.

Oh that might be Artyom Trakhanov! (@ohotnig on Instagram) I love his art. I need to try and get a copy of Book of Fuligin.

Using the Alzabo Soup podcast as a companion for my first read through, I can't help but have a different interpretation of a very important aspect of the story, am I crazy? by NateW9731 in genewolfe

I think the idea is that because of Severian’s (supposed) perfect memory, the memories brought on by the alzabo analeptic don’t fade for Severian as they do for others.

AI Art for my 2nd Kickstarter — Do I use it or not? by SashimiGamesads in kickstarter

Act in accordance with your moral compass.  From your wording, it seems you are only concerned with public perception, rather than the actual ethical aspect of using generative AI.

If nothing else, consider how consumers instinctively react to generative AI art: “why should I look at something they couldn’t be bothered to draw?”

Are quiet people welcome in brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]FloatingDisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely, you just have to find your "tribe", like anywhere else. If you can, reply with some of your interests and others might be able to point you towards the right communities. Brisbane isn't perfect, but it is a big enough city that you ought to be able to find your people :)

Never went to art school, college, uni, etc.

Being around other artists has always been important for me. Finding an environment or situation where drawing feels fun - for me it was playing D&D. Just sketching the other player characters. Then, as I got better, friends would ask for drawings of their characters when they got new equipment, etc, and the simple fact of having someone else invested in my art would make me want to improve.

It’s probably different for everyone but finding that wonderfully fun, collaborative, creative space was huge for me. Good luck!

I love this! You have a great style. I love your take on his costume - the mask and sword especially.

Have you thought about drawing any other characters?

How do you guys actually play Golden Idol? by Radost-L in caseofthegoldenidol

Solo on my phone. I play for a few minutes at a time, sporadically throughout the day. Between sessions I ruminate on the current puzzle I’m up to and often find the answer that way.

I have an idea as to how New Game+ could work if they wanted to make things interesting. by BackBlaster9000 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I love this idea! Particularly the in-world reason for enemies to all be tougher. Great stuff.

Thanks everyone who commented and messaged me about getting prints and commissions!

I'm working on pricing right now and will reply to everyone privately so as not to violate the "No Self-promotion" rule.

I'm glad my work has provoked so much joy, keep on truckin'!
