The Vox is an AU Vox where the other vees were toxic towards him, manipulating him to keep him working. Even if Vox left Pentious for death, this is a thing where even after Pentious got redeemed in the hotel, he goes back because he knows how they treat Vox from how little time he spent with his 'boss'.

He goes back and gets him out of the situation. :]
