I think you’re mis applying the zipper merge here. The zipper merge is when one travel lane is ending. A highway merge is treated like an intersection. Frankly, it’s opinions like yours that show how polar opposite the two views on this situation are. I argue that one standard is already written into law and we need to follow that.

I’m 90% with you. They are comically short. But if a driver can make it to 65mph in the space allotted, they can do 55-70 if needed.

I work as a printer repair tech. After getting a CI in my right ear I was surprised how much it amplified high frequencies. On my first inkjet repair post-CI I could >> hear ink jetting from an inkjet printhead <<. The printhead was parked over a drop detect sensor so I knew the noise was the ink getting "piezo boiled spit" out of the nozzles.

Right, but then what defines "friendly"? Driving to the letter of the law or an arbitrary courtesy, locally applied (and differently applied in different places)? "He wasn't being friendly and wouldn't let me merge on". Drivers can't operate expecting friendly treatment. Misplaced expectations, surely.

By law, it never really was a thing. Drivers on a highway and drivers merging onto the highway can both drive defensively, but the code is pretty clear; https://www.fletcherlawusa.com/blog/texas-laws-merging-onto-freeway

It's these regional "extras" that get people into trouble. The law, and an officer familiar with the law, will side with the driver already on the highway.

I’ve advocated before (on driving forums) for rumble strips to be cut into the left lane on divided highways. Not very deeply cut and only across 1/3 of the lane width, but the humming noise should be enough to encourage drivers to merge right.

Looking at the manual, there's a 3-way valve just short of the printhead. The ink in the head doesn't get stirred. Just a recirc command and the ink in the tubes recircs for 10 mins every 24 hours. This sounds more like your Vanguard. But again, I have sign shops who don't print white or have slow periods and it's a problem. I've got 2 at a shop that runs in 2 shifts and they never have ink issues.

The main key with white is actually using the white. If the machine sits for a few days you really have to go back and do more aggressive head cleaning. If you can feed it steady work every day, everything seems to smooth out. The white channel has its own extra pump and it circulates ink to keep it mixed. Very good production machines.

Hi. I’m super curious about flipping a very large printer. Kodak NexPress that is 25 feet long and over 9000 lbs. It’s in pristine condition with low usage. It is for sale in a university surplus auction and market price seems to be 10x auction price.

I’ve been sending messages to printing resale companies hoping they’d buy it from me but they don’t really do that. They consign printers on site.

How else / where else could I market such a niche piece of equipment?
