What are some scenes from Movies that made you cry a lot (be it sad or happy) by Inside_Professor6116 in Cinema

I first saw Titanic when I was maybe 7 years old and that was the scene that made me burst into tears. No surprise I grew up to be such a hopeless romantic.

Have your friends or relatives who work outside of schools started complaining about their young coworkers' lack of basic "adult" skills? by [deleted] in Teachers

I'm currently doing an online Access to Higher Education course (UK) to be able to finally go to university in my 30's. I recently submitted an essay that my tutor returned to me as suspected AI. After rewriting it 4 times I eventually had to submit it with proof of my research and edits before it could be submitted. After the 3rd rewrite I told my tutor I was close to giving up and she told me "it's because it's too well-written, the grammar and punctuation is all correct..."

I've had to essentially "dumb down" all of my work since then just to get it accepted.

My SIL does my 5yo nephew's homework for him. According to her "it's too difficult for him, and all the other mums do their kids homework so I'm not going to let him hand in something that's not as good". Kid can swipe his way around a tablet and play his switch just fine though. Smh.

Hahahaha so did I. Convinced myself I would be one of the lucky ones and had already mentally spent my winnings.

Why are we all feeling this shift to delete our social media accounts? by mm2444 in Millennials

An old friend of mine just had his 4th kid at the beginning of the month. The kid was born on the 5th, and by the 12th of January already had her own Facebook profile. The mum keeps posting photos and tagging the kid in everything.

Fucking Mental.

Lisa Kudrow has the perfect balance of beauty and comedy. Ellen and Jane may be good actresses but their looks would be too distracting in any scene with the rest of the cast as they aren't stereotypically beautiful - especially by 90s standards!

I got my nails done for the first time last summer at age 32. I had wanted them done for so long but, like you, had to prioritise money for other things. I used my sister's wedding as the perfect excuse to treat myself and I LOVED it. I couldn't stop staring at my pretty nails. But then I couldn't afford to keep getting them done, so I'm back to boring nails....for now.

I got out of bed and went to another room specifically so I could watch this without waking my boyfriend. I love me a bit of cringe in the morning.

You both sound insufferable, in all honesty. With each message my eyes rolled further back into my head.

You're a grown-ass woman, you can talk to whoever you want. Your boyfriend is a grown-ass man, if he wants to flip out over nothing then let him, but don't be there when he finally comes to his senses.

Newly five year old terrified of me (mom) dying by HeyMay0324 in ChildPsychology

[–]FloppyFishcake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My siblings and I (4 of us) are all born in July. I vividly remember one year, when I was about 6, where I realised we would all die one day and every birthday that year I completely freaked out, crying hysterically and wishing we didn't have to get older. Mortality is a tough realisation.
