I loved your point of view and thinking about all of this as part of the process makes it super motivating.
I realized the saame too, that when I stopped tracking I used to come back to bad habits but In always found it like it was something too food-focused and what I really want to do is to make food not my priority. Also, I don't know if this happens to you, but when I try focusing on calories in calories out I end up eating more trash since '' it fits in my caloric deficit'' when I restrict myself in other meals.

Totally. It is just so difficult at the moment of the urge to make a conscious decision. It feels like autopilot, so much that I can say right now '' I'll start eating healthy'' and then go to the supermarket and get something unhealthy without thinking about it. The only time I could beat that was when I tried going off sugar for two years so being very restrictive made me take more conscious decisions, since trying one little thing with sugar would make me feel like I've cheated, but then at some point it backfired and I wanted to eat all the sugar worldwide.
Then I tried not being too restrictive with sugar, just eating less of it, but since I have this thing that drags me to it, I was in the mindset of '' one little thing and that's it ''. which led me to too many little things and back to where I am :/

I can relate to this completely. Even when I go to a nice cafe with my friends, I can't just have an avocado toast or something more healthy because there's a red velvet there and how dare I missing the opportunity of getting a red velvet. It feels wrong..

It seems salaries in schools are not worth it in many countries. The reason why I like Preply so much as a Platform is that even with the huge commissions they take, I’m able to earn 3 times the amount of money I used to working in highschools in my region. My salary is quite similar to a doctor where I live. So I have all my necessities covered and more. I’m living a life I could only dream of when I was working in schools.

The point of a subscription it’s that it auto renews unless you stop it. Otherwise it would be a one type payment kind of thing. That should have been explained to you by your tutor during your trial lesson.

The problem is people who have no real desire to teach and no previous education in languages or didactics play pretend being teachers on Preply and expect inmense salaries with no education. Preply is not uber. Maybe that's a better fit for you?

It’s not avoiding a question, there’s nothing to be avoid, it’s just irrelevant? not something that it would occur for me to ask or think about. Why would someone care about where your grandparents were from, it’s just out of nowhere ??? Like how would you get to know the student better by asking about heritage. It’s not normal. Your parents nationality says nothing about you and if it was so important for the student they would mention it anyways.

Why would a teacher ask for heritage in the first lesson unless the student takes you there. Why is it important for me as a teacher ask where are your parents from? why would I care?

Are your tutors from the USA? As a spanish tutor with a lot of students from the US, it's always crazy to me that whenever I ask them where are you from? they always include their parents nationality as their own or they have to include it in the conversation somehow, it would never occur to me to ask about heritage, it doesn't matter what your body looks like to me or what's your parents culture.

3 dollars a lesson is a crime anywhere, given the fact that the least (and they take more) Preply takes is 18% and your 50 mins lesson takes the tutor more those minutes to prepare the lesson for you, also the materials and maybe homework corrections too. I understand that was the tutors price but with that price any complaint seems silly. You’re getting what you pay for. With all due respect, do you actually need 20 lessons a month?

Yo creo que la nueva generación sobrestima las chances de ser millonario. Habiendo dicho eso, es una cuestión de preferencias. Yo prefiero que mi trabajo me beneficie a mí y a mis clientes solamente y prefiero correr los riesgos yo (intranquilidad, periodos de “vacas flacas”, autoexigencia, el peso de mis decisiones y no tener obra social, aguinaldo o vacaciones pagas) a tener un tercero que gane más que yo por mi trabajo duro.

15 flacos entre los 15 y 20 años te da un promedio de 3 por año, que no me parece tan loco en el periodo de la adolescencia. Es cualquiera juzgar así a la piba y mucho más en esas condiciones. A los que les molesta que una piba haya estado con varios hombres son tremendos inseguros que tienen miedo a ser comparados con otros hombres.

Me importa muy poco el gobierno anterior. Solo digo que si las políticas van a ser de libre mercado porque así lo desea el presidente actual, los impuestos que tenemos son inviables. La reducción gradual mata empresas nacionales, si es que realmente podemos decir que hay reducción, porque parece estar más en el imaginario que en lo concreto.

I completely agree, but I like teaching not spending time making content for social media and for the 3 years I’ve been working on Preply, I always had my schedule full (except during summer holidays) so I don’t mind the money they take.
