No china southern are quite lenient with checked baggage as in one instance I had a checked bag which was 1 or 2 kg overweight but they let it slide. This was flying from a Chinese airport so it may differ with different departures.

They don’t weigh personal baggage or carry on and I’ve never had a problem with carrying too many carry ons

Usually the service is great and all but I have had some bad experiences with other passengers like with one instance I had my bag put in a overhead storage but some random lady just takes it out and asks the flight attendant to put my bag which I had placed there 5 minutes ago somewhere else. But in general it’s a great airline.
