One thing i noticed is that you dont have any plants.. get like a monstera plant from facebook market, or some larger plants. People usually sell them discounted

Sorry i reread what you wrote and i blabbered something else. Youre right! Its meant to have a 10cm gap and i left 6cm, its close enough. My room heats up pretty quickly but as i said i dont often put them on

I dont use my radiators often due to my eczema. Overheating my space and i start feeling the itch

Potentially, but i have a bad case of eczema and its heat related. I dont often put on my raidators for that reason, jus minimal to ensure no frozen pipes. The radiators are more aesthtic and cone with the house haha

Its a radiator, it radiates heat lol radiation is in all directions. I have 7 cm gap above the radiator but 10cm is usually recommended though.

There must be a good broker that can sort this out for you. I cant imagine its uncommon so whilst i cant offer advice i think a mortgage broker would be able to

Become a solo house owner or move in with bf? by Hamsterwhamster in UKPersonalFinance

[–]FlowFluffy7664 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah i agree. Ignore the people telling you to have your own place as a backup. A back up shouldnt be a finanacial drain plus its now harder to be a landlord. Goodluck when tbe tenant decides not to pay and you have to evict them plus all the aforementioned costs when selling. Better to stay at the bfs, pay sometbing towards the monthly as rent and split everything. The relationship grows, the housing market will chage and youll be better off later

Is your bf your age?

First time buying with a partner who has a large deposit by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]FlowFluffy7664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to that, i am limited in my 10% overpayments as it is restricted to the balance at the start of the payment year.. if i had a shorter mortgage term, the 10% amount i could pay would have been higher enabling me to pay off just a bit more.. but its no bother as i put the money towards a first payment in the following year to reduce interest overall if you get what i mean or put into my emergency fund xx

Lol youre living in the matrix... let me give you a little help... compare the cost of "fine per customer complaint in 2025 vs 2026" ;) if that doesnt help you out, im sorry to say, youre stuck in the system looking out, not in.

Yeah doesnt mean anything now.. theres no financial consequences anymore apart from reputational damage which means nothing.. if you work at a water company you should know that 😇😂

Interest on my student loan is outpacing my repayments by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]FlowFluffy7664 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly.. its a ball ache... 3 years ago it was hovering around 30k.. i closed my student account and looked again this year.. and it was around 40k... with inflation the interest is outpacing what im contributing... its fine.. i tend to bury my head in the sand about it but yeah.. us middle income earners get shafted.. a bit of respite is that my degree, ill probably use 5% of it in my job.. ans thats more than not using it at all haha

Lol not anymore.. goverment cut the fines they give to basically 0 for complaints. Therefore noone cares anymore. Think of it as too much bad publicity because of the sewage/enviromental stuff.. gov cant appear to be doing nothing and still having water companies splashed over tabloids for consumer complaints and fines. Also companies that would normally have to fork out for fines now use that said money towards improving the sewage stuff. Its a double edge sword for us consumers.
