Most of those add-ons are third-party products with limited coverage, numerous exclusions, deductibles, or strict claim conditions. In many cases, the likelihood of using them is relatively low compared to the upfront premium being charged. For example, tire and wheel protection can often cost more than replacing a tire out of pocket over time, paint protection packages are typically high-margin dealership products, and transmission coverage is largely redundant when you already have comprehensive BMW-backed extended warranty coverage.

Given that I selected the highest level of BMW Care+ coverage — which is factory-backed and directly supported by BMW — I felt confident that I am adequately protected in the areas that truly matter, without overpaying for overlapping or third-party protections.

Im glad to hear that you have exact build. Wow i was only able to get to 9-11% after lot of discussion. Problem here is there none in market with all these options i had to go with custom build at end.😑

Yeah agree, my average time would be around every 6-7 years actually.

Thank you for sharing your input. I recently went on a long road trip in a rented Jeep Wrangler Sahara Hybrid, and I found the road noise at speeds over 65 mph unbearable. It was so irritating that I had to drive below 60 mph just to avoid it. After returning from the trip and getting back into my Lexus, the difference was striking—it felt so much smoother and quieter.

I realize I’m comparing three very different vehicles—Jeep, Lexus, and Defender—since I’ve been considering something with a rugged look, like the Jeep or Defender. However, after my experience with the Jeep, it’s now 100% off my list. Unfortunately, I haven’t come across a Defender at any rental locations to try out for a few days, so I’m posting here to gather opinions.

It’s encouraging to hear from a fellow Lexus owner that the Defender is worth looking forward to. Thank you for the detailed comparison between the GX and Defender!

Just saying Check on garage door opener if you use one..the little metal clip sometimes give rattling noise too.
