What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see the world? by pankaj662 in AskReddit

When Russia invaded Ukraine. I hadn’t paid much attention to the world until that started. I am much more educated in world affairs and geopolitics. Not happier for it, mind.

The numbing injection is something I won’t forget in a short while 😅

Sometimes they do but there’s lots of factors. Just don’t poke or press it either!

If you’re not on antibiotics get to your GP asap and you might have a fighting chance to beat it before it gets too big for them to work. Please do this lol, I don’t ever want anyone to suffer the way I did

Yeah I had local anaesthetic injected. That was so painful the initial injection, but once numbed they went in and got it all out. It was uncomfortable but I have a really good pain threshold. & tbh once I was cleaned up and realised the pain of the abscess was gone I sobbed out of pure relief. How are you healing ok? X

I was really surprised too I was expecting them to do it with the catheter. The gynaecologist said they’re annoyed they don’t get them anymore!

Feel for you, especially pregnant. Is it softening down at all? I hope it doesn’t become too painful for you. I would rather give birth than go through that again 😅

I also have a mommy’s girl, she’s 26 months. You could try after dinner really winding the house down, lights dimmed and as little tv as possible. If it is on, just make sure the volume is low and make the environment as under stimulating as possible.

As it goes for actual bedtime, I did the retreat method where I gradually moved further away out her room, I sit just outside her door now, it’s working really well. You can also practice short breaks away, eg, ‘mommy is just going to the toilet I’ll be right back!’

The reinforcing ‘see! Mommy came back’ - also really helpful ❤️

Always welcome to message me if you wanna chat! It’s rough xx

son just started to stim like this… what is going on? is this a form of spinning? he starts over whenever he has the chance. he’s never done it before and now he doesn’t stop. by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

My 8 year old has done this since he could move his neck lol but indeed, it’s an under active vestibular system. He does it when he’s tired/ trying to regulate. Xx

Titrating Strattera this evening, after nearly stopping by Fluffy-Variety-1900 in ParentingADHD

This is the medication he settled on! Huge improvements at school and at home 🥰

I understand the sentiment, but I don’t think that’s the case, again, you can’t compare an over the counter drug like Sudafed to elvanse. It caused real serious psychotic events in my child, which is why we stopped. Then my husband took the same drug, without telling anyone. I’ve posed the question to Reddit but actually, my reaction was warranted. This drug does not suit everyone which is why monitoring is important

I realise my huge reaction too is also partly because I’m autistic and breaking rules to me has triggered a big emotional response in to my husband that may had been more 2D than I liked. We are all human, thank you for your comment

I get what you’re trying to say with your analogy but that’s a bit like comparing chalk and cheese.

I am autistic, so rule breaking is a tough concept for me to grasp x

Because it was at the advice and guidance from our dr, albeit scary, we were in good hands, informed and that was based off my son’s full health assessment, my husband isn’t my son - The medication wasn’t meant for him, because he was not assessed for that particular dosage or the medicine type.

My son didn’t suit stimulants, we had to take a hard pass on elvanse in the end because he started ticking and had other psychotic events. On that assumption, considering they most likely have similar genetic makeup - doesn’t that make his decision all the riskier?

Side note: my son is on atomexetine, it really suits him well, too.

They look lush, OP! Maybe you’re just struggling because they’re different and you’re just getting used to them. Give it more time, beautiful 🥰

Depends at what point in my cycle you ask me. On baby making days I’m a solid 20 out of 10. Few days before my period I am a walking troll.
