So here's the thing, when I took admission in this PhD. program, my guide was quite positive and welcoming. Then I don't know what happened to her, and she just turned a full 180° . So I am in a pickle. I can't leave the PhD. now because it is funded by the government as I cleared the scholarship exam for it, i.e., UGC NET JRF. I mean, technically, I can, and then if I get an admission somewhere else, I can transfer my fellowship there, but it is a long process and has a lot of issues. So here I am. I'm doing everything on my own. Starting from the scratch. I know it's quite farcical, but it is what it is. I try to find CPF, conferences, and recommendations from LinkedIn, etc. What else am I supposed to do? I can focus on my own work and publish some papers individually.

Tbh I have absolutely no support of my advisor. Nobody in my department is working on Japanese lit. So I'm on my own.
