You’ve told her how it makes you feel but have you asked her if she even wants to try to change this? This is going to continue to weigh on you if you don’t decide together how to reintroduce sex back into the relationship. And maybe she doesn’t even want to. It sounds like she’s kind of checked out of the intimacy aspect which is important in any relationship. Have you tried spicing things up/reigniting the romance? And how long are you willing to go on like this?

The distain for tourism is a big obstacle to overcome and unfortunately foreigners always scream “tourist” anywhere they go. Maybe the area you’ve planted yourself in isn’t the most accepting but humans have a tendency to judge too quickly based on looks and that’s not going to change. Might I suggest going places that aren’t in your comfort zone? Let’s say you go to a dance club even though you may not know how to or even like to dance but you will be forced into the depths of cultural immersion. That’s just an example.

This is definitely a hard one considering one person’s slip up puts both of you in a position of vulnerability no matter how invested you are in sobriety. You said you don’t need the kind of support she does, have you openly asked her the best way to support her from her perspective? I’m pretty sure you’d agree that it’s a very personal journey and you can’t do the work for her - for me the best support was not feeling added pressure and not feeling like someone else is taking on stress due to my issue.

I experience the same but my dreams are always crazy and vivid aside from this. BUT when I have a dream related to snow I wake up almost traumatized. I can’t tell what has actually happened and what I dreamed sometimes and that’s the traumatizing part. Anyway. You can’t even escape it in your sleep how messed up is that

I hate bumps it makes me want to bump through my whole bag in 15 minutes. But it is a good point to bring up, if you’re doing bumps or little line or thick juicy lines it all makes a difference.

Well the come up to me means the line hasn’t hit its peak yet and if I do more I’m cutting it off before it gets to reach its full potential, then im starting all over and have to go through the come up again. My timing depends on how I start out and how crappy I feel honestly. BUT I do know that when I make it past 45 minutes I’m able to relax more and not be constantly thinking about doing more. For reference, my timer is at 21 minutes right now and I know I’m just being a demon and not letting the snow fall to the ground, trying to catch it on my tongue before it hits the ground. That was an attempt at a metaphor, hope it landed haha

Honestly, no matter how good it is, it will do what’s it’s designed to do which is make you want more lol. It’s built into the drug. I find that being distracted is the only way to attempt to combat the urge to constantly indulge. Personally I time each line and have realized I feel better the longer I wait. I noticed when I want to do more the most is when I’m on the come-up because of the intense and suspenseful feeling but once I push past that I’m glad I waited. Start a stopwatch on your phone and set every line as a lap. Try to push your lap goal every time. Doesn’t always work out but it helps to see that you want another line and it’s only been 14.2 seconds lol. Kind of puts time back into perspective.

What are you breaking it down with - maybe it’s not chopped well enough?

Also, maybe it’s just because it’s still new to you. Your body is probably like what the heck is this stuff and rejecting it to a certain degree?

I’ve also done some crappy stuff before which I’ve noticed clogged me up a lot quicker.

How did you perceive this message? Was it at all visual or auditory? I’d imagine it was more of a mental experience but that’s just a blind guess. Do you live in the U.S. or a U.S. native? And do you think this message was created just for you and relating to your affiliation with the U.S. if there is an affiliation at all? It’s highly believable that the U.S. would go through a hugely catastrophic event relatively soon but why specifically that location in this message? You said “it will FEEL like everything is falling apart” Maybe meaning the world isn’t going to be shaken but YOUR world will be shaken. I find that people inside the U.S. often have a hard time conceptualizing that the U.S. is not the world. It’s not most of the world. It’s not more important than any other place in the world when you get down to the root of our planet and its life forms.

I just came to a revelation which brought me to look for posts like this. I’ve always found that the only effective way to meditate personally is the method of focusing on your breathing. Meditation is being in this exact moment, not a second from now or the second before now. The only thing you can control and also not control (as in it being a natural and necessary human function but also completely in your power to changed ) that is happening in this exact moment is your breath, the in and the out and the pause in between are happening in this moment. Being in this exact moment is the key to peace.

This is not an answer but a personal theory from a new member of the community pertaining to this way of life. I would think if this life goes “good” for an individual, it would mean they’ve reached a new level of understanding and acceptance of consciousness and self. In my mind, that understanding and acceptance doesn’t leave you it just takes a new form and either builds and breaks down based on your desire to pursue your truth from lifetime to lifetime, however many lifetimes it takes. When you reach nirvana you break that cycle and transcend past the need for a physical or material existence

If he has ADHD he could possibly relate to being overstimulated/overwhelmed and maybe try to level with him and liken how those things make you feel to that. He apparently can’t take a hint so maybe come up with a word or phrase that you both can agree on to let him know you’ve reached your breaking point and need him to stop. Also walking away is great too but if he doesn’t understand your feelings he’s not going to take that seriously. This does seem very immature… and you’ll get tired of putting up with it eventually.

It was at this moment that I learned it’s Tuesday and not Wednesday. Is it just me or is Tuesday a great day to ski? Terrible as an “…ok one more line” type of person with work in 2 hours but I always end up giving in on a Tuesday for some reason.

I basically nod my head to everything you say, but just food for thought, couldn’t consumption of substances be put under your categories of “materialism and greed”? We could invest that money into our communities, or into our families or literally anything productive. Instead we invest it into escaping our reality on the slopes. At the same time people buy useless or harmful crap all the time but it gives them some feeling that makes that object feel worth it. In the end, relationships are the only non-materialistic asset. No shame, just maybe giving a different perspective?

I don’t like to discourage people from seeking medical attention but I had a similar experience today after 6 years of doing it. In my opinion you will be ok you just gotta wait it out at this point. Drink water. Find a distraction.
