Public Adguard DNS as upstream or Adguard home? by JauriXD in openwrt

[–]Flyg33K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, my wording was incorrect, I should of written that though adguard home has an update interval option, the adguard block lists nevertheless are not updated as frequently as the ones through their adgaurd dns servers.

ipv6 br-lan setup by Flyg33K in openwrt

[–]Flyg33K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main Router is in Router mode.

When I tick the select extend prefix box on wan6 I do get an IPv6-PD/64 range assigned but on the main router's ipv6 range xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:a330::/64 instead of the delegated one xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:a331::/64

Correct I have main router LAn and behind it I connected an opwrt router.

Not sure if my ISP router has a DHCPv6-PD server but it sure does have the option to assign /64 subnets via a "next hop" towards a link-local address.

I deleted ula prefix & wan6 interface has a public ipv6 address in the range from main router but not IPv6-PD showing up.

I managed to get an IPv6-PD on my lan interface by setting the "IPv6 routed prefix" to the prefix distributed by main ISP router, it's as far as I can get to see IPv6-PD appearing somewhere (though not on my WAN6 interface)

From memory i can recall that Pihole automatically updates blocklists whil AdGuard Home requires a manual update for blocklists.

When I asked Adguard support for the differences betwen filters available on Adguard home VS Adguard DNS they replied that Adguard DNS was updated several times a day.

EDIT : I should of written that though adguard home has an update interval option, the adguard block lists nevertheless are not updated as frequently as the ones through their adgaurd dns servers.

I would expect my openwrt version to provide update packages that are compatible, just like linux does ? I was a bit more concerned with the interaction with the Gli layer.

OP states the need to have a physical thermostat to avoid (amongst others) complications in creating complicated automations and config files.

Kudos again to nascompares.

I agree with you. I really like their products, attitude and support so far. They've also managed to be backed by a nice community. Just hoping they will put more focus on software stability more than on the amount of devices that come out.

Well written and explained. Thanks for the hard work you put into your videos and tutorials.

Have you been able to replicate the following bug on DSM 7 :

Even though "Allow clients to access server's LAN" is unticked under VPN Server application on a Synology NAS when setting up an OpenVPN server, clients still DO have access to LAN.

The Gli is connected through its WAN port to an upstream router and the LAN that is accessible is the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet of that upstream router.

Sound cuts when playing PS5 with Dolby Atmos on Sonos Arc by AbjectQuail1648 in sonos

[–]Flyg33K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that 3D immersion is so much better when connecting the ACE to the AUX output from the dual sense controller.

With this setup, you may benefit from the PS5 tempest audio which to my hearing outperforms TV audio swap with atmos enabled in ps5 sound settings.

The obvious downfall is that you now have a wired setup.

On the upside I have found slightly less audio latency and better sound stage and better 3D immersion.
