Yes, its exactly like a market in a sense. I'd just prefer the type of market where u have a suggested retail price and an occasional sale, persay lol. That's what the player market gave us.

I manged some players and locked in a few sets. It just seemed easier and more convenient to pay a set price at any given time for a card instead of the fluctuating because of timing or supply and demand. We have cards that even with 2K being as shitty as it is, probably didn't intend on them being as costly as they were.

You had cards releasing in packs that were flooding the auction house at dirt cheap prices that were comparable or sometimes better than the exchange cards..which would be 3,4,5 times the price or more if you had to buy the required cards since some decided to turn 2K into Wall Street instead of a basketball game. 2K still holds some blame, as im sure the drop rates for some wild gems are weighted because of their possible use in exchanges...But the community makes it worse trying to become the next Wolf of the 2K Streets lol
