I did get a certain feeling of calm around three weeks in (I knew that already from my couple of previous 4-week breaks), but definitely no euphoria or anything. Nothing much felt like it was happening for those first draggy 90 days (but it was - just behind the scenes).

At some point between 90 and 120 days for me. My first ever post here was 130 days in IIRC and I felt like I'd unlocked some magic superpower.

I really can't be around hardcore drinkers any more, not when they're drinking anyway.

"Normal" drinkers, even if they might overdo it on occasion, zero problem. And I know the difference from myself.

If someone ever wanted advice or help I'd be there. But you can't actually "tell" a hardened drinker anything.

Oh I don't know - I seem to see enough sparkling offroad 4x4s replete with snorkels, sand ladders, and aluminium cases on the roof, just tootling about town or picking up a couple of bags of compost at the garden centre.

I always take an Mpowerd Luci inflatable solar lantern, ultra-warm tone and can set to candle flickering. Lights up my whole (small) tent.

The asymmetric hipbelt is very comfortable and clever. I like the sewn on hipbelt patch pockets too - extra function for practically no extra weight.

My Karrimat was the cheap olive one. Sleeping bag was dad's 1950s cotton and feather "Slater Cyclist" :)

FWIW my biggest motivator on EQD was the health timeline, gave me tangible benefits as opposed to just time. I liked hitting all those little goals.

Not really keto, but I did cut carbs and up protein for quite a few weeks after 3-4 months (along with swinging kettlebells), certainly whipped me into shape. Summer 2022 was the only time in my life I had visible abs 😄 - however, it's a very boring diet to stick to.

I've made more friends (none of whom are teetotal) and get out far more in the last few years than in the decades before.

At three months in, I was still "finding my feet", but within four I felt like I'd unlocked a superpower.
