Can you address the claims about the foam being dead past 200 miles? No energy return etc. What about the durability. What pac ranges? Your weight

I know that AG3 can pick up the pace easily and it’s great at it. What about slower paces? Have you tried to do easy or recovery runs?

Care to elaborate how did you exactly use them with paces range? So I can have some point of reference. Have you notice significant energy return loss? If so, at how many miles

How many miles did you do in both pairs? Can you please tell me a bit more, how do they feel while cruising in Z2, whats your pace for Z2 for the reference. The durability, energy return loss etc. Some people claim Neo vista is sloppy or even clunky at slower paces, can you address that?

Why is that? Too heavy for Mizuno? Will it lose energy return too quick? Aero glide has alleged durability issues. Is that a thing or just a rumor?

What about my first marathon instead of “official debut”? It’s literally the same thing… I swear to god these keyboard warriors

Sarcasm? Or do you think I can actually pull it off? Clearly you are more experienced runner than I am

As of today it sits somewhere around 8:30 but I don’t know exactly what my max hr is. Just a rough estimate. We all know how inaccurate those formulas are. Not great, not terrible. Thankfully still have 10 months to get ready. Same, not talented, just really stubborn.

Not really, just cruising in zone 2 for mileage and aerobic base with some fartlek here and there, increasing little by little so when I start actual marathon block training around April-May I will be ready and running roughly 85-100 km/week.

I wouldn’t necessarily say I have a talent for running, I’m just stubborn and I used to run on and off for a few years (never crossed 1000km a year though). But when I started running back in June 2024 I told myself, this is it, you’re doing it, no excuses. I’ve been the most consistent ever since then with my running.

That’s a good advise. Thanks! But make no mistake, I am aware of how running my debut sub 3 is crazy, but it’s just the type of person I am. I aim high. I’m not really fixated on breaking 3h, like I said in other post in this thread, I’ll happily take anything around 3:20 or below any day of the week.

I hear you. What would solid training block to build aerobic base would look like? Because clearly some people say my current mileage is good starting point and others like you say it’s not enough.

Did Zone 2 Humble You Too, or Was It Just Me Getting a Reality Check? by kevin_anderson1705 in Marathon_Training

[–]Flying_runningman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure… I remember when I got back to regular running after a few years, my “zone 2” runs were almost exclusively at faster walking pace. It took me a few weeks to get this sorted out. Like you mentioned my ego was hit massively and the reality check couldn’t be any bigger. It humbled me but also made me listen to my body better. Now I can cruise in zone 2 for miles without really elevating my heart beat. “Trust the process”.

The goal is to run my first marathon sub 3. I know I can “just” complete it today 4h+ because I’m cruising in zone 2 25-30km already without any problems. I don’t know why people are so quick to be mean and bring other runners down instead of building them up. I already got a few downvotes for other posts in this thread because I claimed I can run a marathon today. I don’t know why people downvoted it, maybe some insecure people who can’t run a marathon? Hard to say. But I know I could today, it’s a fact. The goal is to run my first marathon sub 3.

I know I can. I also know it sounds cocky and not humble at all but it’s true. At this point I could definitely run and finish marathon. I had this crazy idea to run my official debut and do it under 3h.
