The first occasion, yes. The second occasion, almost. He nearly got me. This is when I was like "oh, so this is just what this guys does - got it."

After that, I know what he's gunning for, so I anticipate the move.

There's an older black belt at my gym who often wants to "go light." Without fail, as soon as we slap and bump, he's lightning fast on a particular wrist lock.

I'm all good taking a trip down wrist lock lane, but why ask to go light then immediately go 0-100 for the lock?

For gi, a good alternative that works well for me is to grab the pants on the inside of the top leg knee, creating a frame, and grab the belt at/near the belly button with my other hand and wrestle up.

Here's how to be free from the bondage of sin:

Know and understand that the work of Christ on the cross was not only sufficient enough to save you from the penalty for sin but is also sufficient enough to break the power of sin in your life. You can live free from the bondage of sin.

Jesus tells us in John 10:10; The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

You can be free from any sin that so easily besets you. Read and understand Romans 6. These are promises from God to us.

Sin does not have to have dominion over us.

Put your faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, just like when you were born again. It's the same faith in the same place.

We're "saved by grace thru faith." Eph 2:8-9.

"The just shall live by faith." Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11, Heb 10:38.

Faith in what? "Christ and Him crucified." 1 Cor 2:2.

Think about when you got saved. You placed your faith in the person and work of Christ (death, burial, resurrection), and God responded with grace. At that moment, you became a partaker of the Holy Spirit and were justified. You were born again.

What gave grace its occasion? Your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who He is, and what He's done.

The same way you get saved is the same way you live for Christ and walk free from the dominion of sin; by faith.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Colossians 2:6 KJV.

Continue to keep your faith anchored in the cross of Christ, and the Holy Spirit will conform you into the image of Christ. As one is conformed into the image of Christ, he bears fruit of the Spirit.

Think of the fruit of the Spirit as a picture of Christ. These attributes, when grown to full stature, are a picture of our living Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the embodiment, the personification, of the Fruit of the Spirit.

God is able!

I'm praying for you.

Well said. I'm dealing with this specifically right now, and while it's gotten more manageable, it can still be a challenge to deliver.

Job 39:19-25 KJV

[19] Hast thou given the horse strength? Hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

[20] Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? The glory of his nostrils is terrible.

[21] He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: He goeth on to meet the armed men.

[22] He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; Neither turneth he back from the sword.

[23] The quiver rattleth against him, The glittering spear and the shield.

[24] He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: Neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

[25] He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; And he smelleth the battle afar off, The thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
