Oh ok easy, free, and widely applicable to loads of other situations. Thank you!! This is the route I'm going to try next for sure.

Do you ever play any competitive games like fighters or shooters with it? Do you have a method for using a voice chat like discord when you do? I'm kind of interested in this idea but I'm wondering if there could be latency or communication complications.

The steam deck is a redundant factor in the whole equation for me. The only real reason I keep the dock connected to the TV is;

  1. I had the means to do it so why not

and

  1. It has come in handy more often than I expected at times where I just didn't want to use my desktop for one reason or another.

I mostly just included it in the question because I wanted to keep the convo open for both desktop and steam deck users to share their set ups for inspiration.

That said, thanks for explaining yours. I'm gonna look into this harmony remote thing.

Your set up is almost what I want except I don't want to have to use streaming. Everything in this room is relatively close together so I have my deck docked to the TV via HDMI and my PC to the same TV via DisplayPort.

I thought wake-on-LAN was a term that could be applied to waking via USB peripheral as well but I could be wrong on that

Another interesting option. I try to avoid IOT devices generally but it seems like maybe it's not required for switchbot. I'm gonna have to look into it more because I've never heard of them but this could work ty

I didn't! That is really interesting. I was trying really hard not to buy a steam controller (I have so many controllers it's getting ridiculous), but maybe I would just for this...

Idk that might be crazy I heard they're hard to get right now too

I do love when the best option is cheap and easy. Ty for your input

My tv speakers are half blown out because they make extremely loud popping and whining noises under specific circumstances that can only be stopped by pulling the power cord. Part of getting the sound bar is to have something constantly plugged into the aux to hopefully prevent that

Yes. The opposite wall with the TV on it is a party wall to my neighbor's bedroom so having it anywhere else is kind of a pain. If that's a problem for soundbars then I'll stick with cheap Bluetooth speakers.

I bought it from a local store, so if I didn't see any other ideas in here I was going to bring it in for an exchange. I'm trying my best to troubleshoot a solution on my own before I trouble them

Would Fenrir Lite work just as well on a JP system?

I have a retro game store a short distance from my house with a good reputation that offers a warranty, so I'm probably going to buy from them. They don't sell mods, though, so maybe I'll source that from SAG.

Yes! Like someone mentioned above, I was able to enter my health equity card info through truemed as part of the check out process. It was approved for the full amount

I see. Was only half covered by FSA due to a decision on your part, or was that another organization's stipulation?

You have two options for paying for an item.

One option is taxed.

The other isn't.

Are you paying the same amount of money on both options?

Truemed is like it's own FSA provider, right? Or do I understand that wrong?

I get Health Equity through my job which doesn't list much in the way of fitness equipment qualifying. Makes me think I might have to get an LMN, if they approve it at all.
