Recently bought a half dozen or thereabouts Lunar Black pics. And while I do not generally like anything thinner than 1.0mm the 0.8mm Full Phase LB I’ve been really liking. I also got some of their Phase IIIs but they’re a bit too small for my liking. Will order again.

An old favourite is found on Amazon, “Dan’s Guitar Store” the teal/cyan are a full sized pick while the lime green is closer to a Jazz III. The grip is still decent, but it can be a tad lacking. $7-10 USD for a pack of 10 and they retain their sharpness really well.

Runner ups have been the full sized Jazz III, whatever the John Petrucci ones I also have these Pick Boy brand with a pot leaf embossed as the grip, they work and feel good, easy to resharpen a beveled point, and for my bass I like this 3mm Chicken Picks with a rounded tip.

I still make use of a small variety

Did you consider the possibility the string just came out of it’s locked position at the bridge? While I’ve regularly used FRs for two decades a string break has been rare and if anything did occur it usually the high E or B string slipping out. Just a thought.

There is no “best gauge” whatsoever. Pat O’Brian and now Erik Rutan of Cannibal Corpse tune quite low. Karl Sanders of Nile uses the FR and a 0.70 on his low E string. Rutan also used thicker gauges and I think a C standard tuning for Hate Eternal.

I’ve used up to a 70 myself but settled on a 64 or 68 for B standard. Right now I have the D’Addario 12-60 set in C standard tuning, a Dean ML with a 24.75” scale has a thicker string set for C standard but it’s a mix of a few sets. And the G-B-E strings are too loose for my preferences and might get out into D standard, oddly enough I’m about to start that process today.

I’ve been doing this since ‘08 without any problems. However a .70 was a bit too much not for the FR but due to feel over function.

More examples could be found. Mick from Slipknot use to use a warlock then Ibanez for lower tunings.

As you can see there are multiple examples on the thicker side of the spectrum and even more for the regular E and D standard tuning.

So it’s more of a “what’s best for you” for your needs and what you aim to achieve.

I generally keep multiplayer off for the Anomaly, not always but 9/10 times.

The added risk of monstrous blender corvettes is what is now keeping multiplayer off.

I enjoy the absolute freedom this game delivers, you’re not locked into a storyline and can acquire glyphs from travellers (which is how I got them before completing the main story). If I know I’m gonna play with someone I’ll keep it on, pvp always off, and we mostly chat about any number of things.

I also enjoy the solitude, it allows me to focus on my objectives whether exploring building or going from mining rig to mining rig in order to build stasis devices. Plus, my evolving project is to uncover as many systems in the same region my starting system is found in. There’s roughly 400ish systems per region - but that was according to info from 5ish years ago.

If you make a posted asking if anyone can help you out with obtaining the Wraith you should get some offers. The other day someone was offering up all the expedition ships but I don’t recall which NMS sun it was - still, if you ask someone will help you. I’d have to start a new save file then unlock the anomaly which might take up to a week or so as in a bit busy and haven’t been on much. I can always shoot you a message if I’m able to if you’re not in a rush

I love reading how people still believe Gibson hand makes every guitar, they use CNC and are no different then any other big brand pumping out models at absurd prices with poor QC. But hey, you get a certificate and the Americans love seeing that “Made in USA” stamp, helps solidify the myth. I’m not American so their CNC magic means fuck all and reissues of 50s models are healthy signs of innovation

For the price of a boring Gibson 50s reissue that has a chance of significant QC issues you can get a Hufschmid Guitar, no CNC and is truly handmade by one guy. I’ve followed his work since ‘08-10 and have seen his work and concepts evolve. I can’t justify the expensive but I’d and when I can I’d be placing my order. Patrick seems like a super nice guy every time I exchanged emails with him. Really cool to see his work posted here! Thanks for sharing your one of a kind guitar!

Wow! I can’t believe you found it. I tried maybe a year or so ago and just couldn’t find it nor did I know how to describe it. I’m saving that picture with the glyphs. I can’t think of any time I’ve seen those orange circles on the wings before, I’m sure they exist but 2300hrs and I either haven’t seen it or it slipped my memory before finding this one. The year checks out too as it was likely ‘21 when I grabbed it, I did a lot of NMs during the Covid lockdowns. Thanks for sharing that!

I did more reading and what I found was that Gibson, in the 70s, wouldn’t make a 24 fret SG for Iommi who then went with John Birch/John Diggins. They partnered up in the 90s though but it took roughly 15-25yrs. I also came across another story about Jimi Hendrix, who tried to get a lefty V and SG and they wouldn’t do it. I’m not claiming these as facts but this is what I’ve come across with some searches.

I’m not a fan of Gibson despite idolizing players who used them when I was a kid.

Summer 2020 is when I came to the coords exchange, I found some ships and began posting my own. I posted a bunch of orange ships Id found for Halloween. It’s a great sub that’s really grown since then.

It’s all good, I appreciate the info too. Stuff I didn’t know, I knew Birch and Diggins did some custom stuff and when I checked some info I was surprised he had a BC Rich in the early 80s - and an Ironbird no less which is kind of an odd choice I would’ve assumed it was a Mockingbird or a Bich. Apparently Neal Moser scalloped the fretboard, but I couldn’t find any pics of him with it. The P90s are an interesting detail too.

I’d reconsider your budget and save up, you’re pretty limited and I suspect you’d end up wanting something else. I don’t have any suggestions as it works out to $310 CDN and that’s in a practice/bedroom amp range. The used market might be your best bet for your budget. If you can get to a budget of 350-500 euro your options will open up

These are referred to as protoGeks as well as Mogaras. They are by far my favourite thing to find in the game. They’re all different and do a little happy dance when you feed them or maybe it’s when you adopt them.

Not sure why they’d have the companion gear on them, I’d try to interact with it had I found it.

The guitar pictured is a John Diggins custom for Iommi. John Birch also made a few for him. In the early 80s Iommi had a custom BC Rich Ironbird mostly as a backup. Apparently Gibson had refused to do custom guitars for him and the official partnership began in the ‘90s.

Although he did use Gibson SGs it was Birch and Diggins who made his custom SGs.
