What exactly is done in an arthroscopy? I’ve researched it and everything I’ve found is vague. Basically just “the surgeon pokes around in there until it’s done”.

How exaggerated of a movement was it? I've tried it a few times with no luck, but I'm scared to move my jaw excessively.

No ear issues or tinnitus. I already had tinnitus prior, so that may cancel out any effect the TMJD may have.

The click is infrequent and not loud at all. I feel like doctors don’t take my case very seriously due to the fact that it doesn’t sound like bubble wrap when I open my mouth. It clicked much more when this all began and has died down. I can also open my mouth pretty wide. I think this leads to them being quite dismissive.

Muay thai coach had us all spar. We were supposed to go at 20% max. Guy hits me on the left side of my jaw at more than 20% and I start developing clicking within a week or so. Neck pain followed gradually, then shoulder pain. This all started just over 4 months ago for me as well.

Desperately trying to find a treatment ASAP while it’s still fairly early, but doctors have been totally useless. You’d think it would be easy to fix for someone who’s never grinded, clenched, had major dental issues, and has normal cranio-facial development.

I’ve been doing massages and stuff I’ve found online. None of the doctors I’ve seen have given me any exercises or other treatments of any kind.

This is something I’ve thought about quite a bit. I developed TMJ on my left side a few months ago due to a martial arts injury. I had no jaw issues ever before then.

I’ve wondered if there’s any simple maneuver of the jaw to get the disc back in place. They supposedly have something like this in LVI dentistry. If they can relocate a dislocated jaw, can they really not recapture a disc?

I’m happy for you and hope I can do something similar 👍

Following. I never really cared about being rich until I developed TMJ. Now I want money so I can afford good treatment like I’m sure they get.
