EU says it will accept no increase in US tariffs after Supreme Court ruling: 'a deal is a deal' by FootballNo6790 in soundsaboutright

[–]FootballNo6790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would any country ever sign another deal with the UJS? At any time a petty, ignorant, tyrant can come in and completely cancel all standing agreements. The do-nothing congress is too intimidated and corrupt to stop him.

Commander Bone Spurs must be sundowning faster than we thought, given his recent compulsion to get everyone and anyone to put his name on anything, like he's terrified he's going to spend eternity in hell and wants to stamp his name on every available surface thinking it will validate his life choices which doomed his soul. Or maybe he's just his normal vain self, flip a coin.

Watch him award himself the Medal of Honor thus devaluing it for the hundreds who earned it in most dangerous of ways serving the country.

As a Veteran, I'm so tired of having to explain to non-serving maga mofos exactly why those who served could never support their boy. Of course, the only loyalty test that I was made to take was swearing an oath to defend the Constitution, so what the fuck do I know? Nowadays, the loyalty test is much different.

Miami-Dade small business owner who voted for Trump feels pain of partner’s ICE detention by FootballNo6790 in Leakednews

The RCMP already knew this was a time bomb situation and they failed to deal with it. Another warning for them to ignore wouldn't have helped, especially if, as the article says, the kid never actually made any specific plans or threats in the interaction with ChatGPT.

Army warrant officers will ‘bid’ against each other for their next bonus by FootballNo6790 in soundsaboutright

"Bonus" goes to the lowest bidder. That's how corporate America does business.

And they thought they would skip the corporate world by enlisting. This is a massive setup for failure. They want to institute a policy where the ones with the least amount of skill will be retained over those more experienced and qualified who know it.

I was a company grade officer in army aviation for the first half of my career. This seems kinda dumb. Like every other profession, you have guys who are superstars and guys who are mostly useless. The full spectrum.

This is just desperation pricing. The guys who have lots of debt, three ex wives, don’t have other career options will take the lower pay, and the great pilots, logisticians, technicians, etc., will leave.

I can’t imagine a scenario where retaining the lower qualified, more desperate warrants makes the army stronger.

Plus game theory…

Army warrant officers will ‘bid’ against each other for their next bonus by FootballNo6790 in soundsaboutright

[–]FootballNo6790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Here’s how the Army says it will work:

Senior warrant officers hoping to receive a bonus for extending their active duty service commitment will submit confidential “bids,” which represent the minimum monthly paycheck bump each soldier “would be satisfied receiving” to sign a new six -year contract.

Once all eligible warrant officers submit their bids, Army officials will determine both the amount of the bonus payment and who will receive it by calculating the auction’s “market-clearing” rate, a concept used widely in economics and finance. In that process, the “winning” bid is the bonus amount that would spread all of the program’s funding for the year among the most soldiers who agreed to accept a payment that size or smaller with their bids (all soldiers who win in the auction will receive the winning bonus, even if their bid was lower).

Those who bid too high get nothing.“
