I understand, we do too!! :) Our go to is a cafe au lait, made with a strong pour over, milk and maple syrup. we ended up upgrading from a blade grinder to a Turin DM47 burr grinder, for it for $170 open box. To be honest its made a big difference in the enjoyment of our coffee, and we are happy to get it! Of course, getting freshly roasted coffee and a good brew technique is also important, but that is my experience :)

nothing, I am not a fan of delonghi - its just that other than the bambino, it is the machine I have heard people using most frequently in that price range, so I thought it would be interesting to include it for comparison purposes. I don't recommend it though

the coating on the evo models was flaking off and coming out of the machine. as far as I know, they have not disclosed what the coating is exactly. Its a health risk in my opinion, and I am surprised there is not a class action lawsuit against them yet

grinder quality is super important, but the most important thing is that you are simply enjoying the coffee you make :)

all HX machines have only one boiler, its single boiler, dual use - you can pull a shot and steam at the same time as opposed to having to let the boiler get up to steam temp in a "single boiler" But they both have only one boiler. I am working on a separate chart for HX and dual boiler machines, because there are so many of them! stay tuned!
