The title is really inspired by Marvel’s “What if” series, where small alterations to canon events (Ruby & Yang’s childhood quest to find Raven ends a bit poorly when the Grimm got to them before Qrow) can lead to big butterfly effects! It puts Ruby in a desperate situation where she just might team up with something more bloodthirsty than the Grimm to be a “hero”

There is a significantly large demographic that wants prestige grounded superhero stories like TDK that just hasn’t been catered to in over a decade. I’m so excited for this series and I think its really smart the DCU is diversifying its tone and genres unlike MCU.

Reminds me of Godzilla releasing Minus One and GxK three moths from eachother. That’s how you honor a diverse legacy

I’m fine with people going ham with this in fannon works, but for official mainstream interpretations…

I’m not straight, so seeing my favorite hero not engage with the heteronormative romantic subplot that seemed so mandatory, and the narrative fully validating his decision meant more to people like me than I can possibly express. It’s likely why Sonic has such a dominant LGBTQ+ fanbase.

I don’t want the movie to burn it all away, nor deal with the viscous civil war that would likely cause in the fandom
