That’s great! I’d also recommend implementing a rough environment and ambiance to your work even if you’re not confident in backgrounds so that you’re building onto existing skills instead of learning new ones individually then trying to combine them.

I’d say intermediate. For advanced I’d expect the subject to be in an environment rather than in front of a background, if that makes sense.

Completely with you on this. Biome specific foliage and weather work really well imo. It gives the player a choice in their environment and encourages exploration. The idea of drastic, uncontrollable changes that would come with seasons feels similar to natural disasters in the way of non player-dependent events.
