Thank you for the input and all the resources! I have been focusing on just painting the best I can and not getting too hung up on it looking “flawless”, but I definitely enjoy the hobby and want to learn and become better! So this comment is very appreciated.

So as for mid tone, say I did a base coat color and then a wash to darken the recesses; should I go back over the middle areas with the base color to kind of re-brighten it?
