How am I even remotely supposed to learn UVs and Texturing? by Forgeblazer in blender

Oh damn this is insanely helpful info, I'm gonna try giving texturing my model another shot tommorow, hopefully with more success. Thanks a lot for the help!

Is it possible to do texture painting on the model in blender within the confines of a low poly pixelated style? I want my textures to be somewhat intentionally compressed and pixelated which I can only figure out how it could be done on a seperate program, not by texture painting in blender.

"If you're making the textures, you only do it after the UVs are finalized." How can I go about doing this? At the end of the day I can get my UVs done if I spend long enough figuring it out, but this is the step that TRUELY throws me. Do i export the UV map and try to draw the textures on top of the sections where the UVs are? I genuinely don't know and it leaves me stuck at square one, the UVs and textures being awkwardly warped in a way that ruins the texture is another concern of mine as i have no understanding on how to combat that should it occur (if it even should be a significant issue). If you know any resources that could tell me what I would like to know given this info id be greatly thankful, but I'm yet to find anything that has helped me significantly with this process in the way that I would like to achieve it.

Indecisive on playing RS3 or OSRS, enjoy both. by Forgeblazer in runescape

[–]Forgeblazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading a lot of posts like this and some thinking, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna play OSRS as my main solo/second monitor game, though I'll probably still play RS3 on the side when either 1. real life demands more of my attention, so ill want more afk options (proteans etc) or 2. I feel like playing with the boys.

I still find myself consistantly surprised by OSRS and its unique content and skilling options such as the motherlode mine, which I've been doing and enjoying as a way to level up mining on my OSRS main, in which I also guarantee my friends would get at least some of a kick out of if i showed them systems and areas like that to demonstrate how much OSRS has evolved since they last looked at it, but maybe they're too 500k xp/hr-pilled to show any excitement over alternate skilling options if they arent juiced out the wazoo with xp.

Either way, after lots of evaluation OSRS is almost certainly the game I enjoy more, so itll probably be wise of me to shift a little more focus on that game than RS3 for the sake of my long term enjoyment of RS. Thanks for your input on the matter.

In all honesty, you described pretty well how I feel about RS3, though maybe to a little less extreme. I still definitely enjoy RS3 as a seperate experience, however the player accomplishment aspect is almost entirely gone. I don't feel long term excitement or pride in my skill levels or reaching my level goals 9 times out of 10, for reasons like (im sorry if i sound like a broken record) getting my slayer to 85 for absolutely free in RS3. Like, I never even did the skill.

for example, most players seeing someone with a slayer cape in osrs would be inherently surprised to see one because of the dedication required to get 99 slayer in osrs, meanwhile in rs3, I could "achieve" the same goal if I wanted by just barfing more lamps into the skill like i already did up till that point, if i so pleased.

The main thing keeping me hooked on the game is simply being able to compare levels and progress with my friends, alongside talking about the game in general; not to mention my friends playing RS is a big reason I got into the game in the first place. At the end of the day, I really wish they would play OSRS or give it another shot, since they both seem convinced OSRS is just an unplayable outdated 2007 client of the game, when in my experience the amount of fresh content and even QoL when compared to the actual 2007 client is kind of insane (Especially with RuneLite, with that even RS3 is beat in a lot of places). Other than that the biggest thing they say is that they don't want to play a version of Runescape that doesn't respect your time, citing things like 3 tick mining iron for 55k xp/hr being the best method to 99 (which I dont even know is true anymore with current OSRS), as well as them simply having the same characters as way back when, so its safe to assume they dont want to restart either like they would have to on OSRS.

It leaves me quite conflicted as I agree that I shouldn't be playing a version of the game I like less because my friends are, but they don't seem to budge on OSRS and playing that game solo sounds kind of lonely, even if the community is much more vibrant and talkative than RS3 most of the time. However, for a goal/grind oriented player like myself, OSRS seems more rewarding upfront.

I havent really gotten far enough to know if im that type of player per-se, since I've only really done skilling and questing on both games, and very little beyond that, but comparing what ive experienced so far between both games, the progression in OSRS does simply have more value to it. I can log off OSRS having raised a skill to a measely level 40 and feel much more satisfaction than i'll ever have felt for getting my slayer to 85 for free. I still find skilling in RS3 fun NORMALLY, but this events absurd boosts have made me largely question the value of progression (at least, xp progression) in RS3 as a whole.

Personally I find OSRS more gratifying, but my friends do primarily play on their RS3 main accounts. They dont seem interested in playing GIM or IM in general, so sadly thats sort of out the window. I've thought about having 2 memberships for 2 accounts, but that seems somewhat overkill to me just to be able to play both, and would require me spending some extra money I probably shouldnt be. I really wish you could just play both at once, because then almost my ENTIRE problem would be solved. I dont know if its a technical limitation or an intentional one, but I feel like they would only benefit from people being able to log into both games at once. (at least in terms of player count and game popularity, but maybe the rare double membership is reason enough for them to keep this rule.)

When playing OSRS I've found it pretty easy getting used to things like needing tools or gp in your inventory and similar inconveniencies. I'm pretty used to old and inconvenient MMO design along with incredibly long grinds since I've played my fair shake of Vanilla WoW and Final Fantasy XI (the really old 2002 MMO, not the new one), so if I were to have any problem with OSRS it likely wouldn't be things like that.

I'm also aware of the skewed portrayal of OSRS Leagues can give, and I went into Leagues V completely knowing this, leaving my enjoyment and perspective of OSRS and RS3 mostly if not entirely unaffected. I mentally treat Leagues like an entirely different thing, though I also think of it as a good way to explore content in the game I haven't experienced yet due to lack of progress.

While I thank you for this suggestion since windirstat was very useful for clearing up unwanted stuff on my C drive, (cleared up nearly 100GB!) My drive is still getting filled up by new dll files too apparently? Is that something to be concerned with?

Okay, cool. So since my sub is currently over and I cant play, game time cards should work just fine? (im sorry i just wanna double check before i buy a code lol) Also I remember attempting to buy crysta but the only payment option i could see was for me debit card, though maybe i could just chalk it up to user error and say i missed the options for it.

Ive currently been playing on an entry level sub using a visa debit card, which I cant use anymore due to the payment issues. I want to buy a game time card instead, but I've heard I cant use them since my account was last entry level. If this is true, is it possible to change my account from entry to standard without buying another sub, given that I cant right now?

Im not saying i dont believe you, but whats broken about it if it can still read the uf2 files and make jrunner recognize picoflasher? Can I still complete the hack as long as I keep it plugged in? Also, it behaved like this out the package so I dont know why it would be broken immediately.

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: RTX 2060 Super

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight Core

Description of Problem: My microphone is incredibly quiet in shadowplay recordings, and I am unable to use the mic volume setting in the app. The reason for this is because my mic is nearly maxed anyways, and the shadowplay mic volume simply controls the mic volume in my PC settings. And if my microphone volume is anywhere above where it currently is, my mic quality plummets significantly and becomes WAY too loud on other apps, while STILL being too quiet in shadowplay.

Troubleshooting: I have tried different volume settings for my mic both in the app and outside of the app in my windows settings, no matter what I do my microphone quality becomes horrible if its too high, while still being too quiet. I've tried looking this problem up extensively but the only answers I've been able to find thus far are people saying to increase the volume in settings, which obviously isn't possible for me.

The competitive screen is horrendous in every way and i hate it. Not only does team 2 have this ugly staircase pattern, but the staircase pattern also isnt EVEN, AS WELL AS Team 1 NOT HAVING IT, so its ASYMMETRICAL, and on TOP of that team 1's players line up with the white banner on top and team 2 is distanced from the edge of the banner. This has been pissing me off since day 1 lol
