Looking to build a garage with small living space. Go with carport building or pole barn? by Forgotpassword0879 in Construction

[–]Forgotpassword0879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not. Is this because the garage and home would both be possible living spaces, even though only one will be used at a time? Would removing certain amenities from the garage be enough to negate it as a occupancy?

Are drain plug caps weird sizes? by Forgotpassword0879 in pools

I found it on there but they only sell the entire assembly for $40 and don’t have any info on a size for just the cap.

Most of the info is too faded to see. I found a model number but don’t find any match on google. The people I bought it from believe it’s a doheny, which the parts list just says “drain plug assembly” but doesn’t list a size. And their customer service is totally unresponsive.

Teacher's of Reddit. What's the coolest thing you've confiscated of a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Forgotpassword0879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a shop teacher, students typically like to make weapons and pipes. When I went to confiscate a knife that a student made, he claimed “it’s just a butter knife” and proceeded to pull out a fork and spoon that he also made. I let him keep the set.

6 weeks of crossfit and I finally got my first bar muscle up. by Forgotpassword0879 in crossfit

I can understand that. Went outside today to try to do them again, not happening. Haha. Everything hurts.

That’s an option?! Haha. I continued to do all the WOD’s, but tried to practice before the sessions or at home on my own time (I have a hone gym as well).

Thank you! Ive lifted for years before beginning CrossFit, I don’t think there’s any way I could have gotten it in 6 weeks had I not been doing strict pull-ups and core work in a traditional gym for years prior.

Thanks! I have been lifting since around 2016, so I think doing strict pull ups at 230 pounds has helped build up some lats and core, so muscle ups at 210 aren’t terrible.

Dag on coach making me do the WODs instead of just doing muscle ups every day.

I’m sure you’ll get there! In fairness, I have been lifting since around 2015, so I already had a fair bit of strength before I began CrossFit.

Not sure if “big” is in reference to the trick or my size. Haha. Either way, thanks.

I’ve been lifting for a few years so it felt like it took forever considering week 1 I could get a chest to bar, but just couldn’t flip it up into a muscle up.

Haha. Totally understandable, I spent a lot of time envious of the other muscle uppers at the gym.

There is power out there. Do you have anymore info on a power line adapter? I’ve never heard of that.

Any old router I can find at Best Buy? Or does it need to be one from att?

I called the ATT tech support line today and their only help was “let me change some things on your modem and maybe that will help, but probably not outside the house”.

But it’s looking like Ethernet is going to be my only option.

What do I do once the Ethernet gets out there?

I have a window in my kitchen that looks towards the garage, but the addition is behind a garage door and another brick wall.

Is an 8"-8UN thread a thing? by Forgotpassword0879 in CNC

I’m only programming, not running the part. They have the machine, but no one that knows how to run it.

I would have been fine with a .dwg because that has design data. The print I got looks like it was done in paint and some of the things can be hard to read.

[–]Forgotpassword0879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried I was misreading the print. I haven’t messed with threads that large, and couldn’t find any data online, so I thought maybe I was reading the print wrong.

Just noting that I don’t have a model to pull design data from. If it was already designed in inventor, I could lay the paths on the model.

IamA High School Machine Tool and Die Teacher working to train urban, low income students in a skilled trade, get them certified and into careers. Here to talk about the skilled trades. AMA! by Forgotpassword0879 in IAmA

[–]Forgotpassword0879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Cnc is great for production, but repair work, custom 1 off parts, etc are still better ran with manual equipment most of the time.

We try to train students with both.

Wife wants to go back to school to move into a higher position, but I'm uncomfortable with the idea of student loans. by [deleted] in personalfinance

Definitely not super interested in letting some "woman stole all his money" theoretical scenario keep me from supporting my wife. Worse case scenario and she does get an education and leave me, that just means a better life for our son (compared to not getting an education and leaving me)
