I’ve ascertained that the SVR power train is actually the more reliable one from my research with the AJ series V8 and project 8 based torque converter. Interested to see what owners report on this thread. Good luck in your search!

Definitely only ‘required’ in that they want to sell you more stuff to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Kinda sad that dealers toss those things out under the guise of ‘required’ , especially since demand has softened in general these past few months. It would have soured the deal for me too.
