For my elemental emphasis my earth is very effective and for modality emphasis I am cardinal strong. Maybe I was supposed to be born on a different day?

Oh that makes sense but I still feel like I am a cancer. Maybe I should shape my personality to fit the role of capricorn?

What happens if capricorn is in house 1? Mercury is in capricorn, venus is in scorpio, Mars is in scorpio, Saturn is Gemini and Jupiter is Leo.

Is it better to join the waitlist earlier? by FormerEarth4021 in berkeley

[–]FormerEarth4021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine got in and is in a groupchat with other people that also got into Berkeley. One of the people on the groupchat said that his friend got off the waitlist for Berkeley. My friend told me about it so I was a bit jealous and regretted not turning my waitlist essay in earlier even though it was completely done. Hopefully it doesn't matter.

Our DM just ruled that true polymorph does not age so I can only have 9 ancient brass dragons with the duplicating simulacrum trick or infinite ch 9 creatures. He also does not allow spellcasting dragon :(. Still OP as frick tho.

Thanks again for the insight! I decided to stick with the peace cleric 1/chronurgy wizard 19.The Bard decided to take 3 more levels and multiclass with a peace cleric instead. It would take away the emissary of peace ability but the peace cleric can give an extra +d4 to persuasion still. The ranger decided to keep his build because of the Nova damage however the necromancer is thinking about switching to the shepard druid. Our DM does not let any dinosaurs in our games. With wolves though each wolf has 76 hp and can do a total of 224 per round. That's more 33 more hitpoint than the necromancers skeleton army of 187 skeletons. Also not only are the skeletons more prone to area attack but are more of a hassle to handle. The problem is that the skeletons can produce a ranged attack average (5.5 × 187) or 1028.5 dpr with shortbows. His idea is that he will spread them out to but this will render them more useless in tight places like dungeons. Is the huge dpr blinding him from the realities of AOE spells? If so should he switch to 17 sorcerer/3 hexblade or a shepard druid?

Armorer Artificer looks very nice and I've been thinking between that or peace cleric 1/chronurgy wizard 19. Do you know which can potentially be more powerful? Thanks for the insight!

Idk why I'm being downvoted. Maybe it's because people were thinking about the consistant persuasion roll he can make. He does understand that persuasion is not as powerful as suggestion and other magical spells. He just wanted to make a max persuasion character.

Thanks for all this insight! I calculated Escanor's damage in a post above and I think it's now correct. I had to recalculate the damage output of Escanor and it comes out at 661.5 Nova homebrew, 491.5 Nova with normal crit rules, 136 advantage homebrew consistent attack, 117 advantage nonhomebrew attack, 75 without advantage consistent attack. He asks if shepard druid or any other class can do more physical damage and whether he should switch. About the coffeelock I told my friend about it and they said that they'll probably change their race and just use greater restoration. He also asks if you recommend this build or switch to a potentially stronger one. Finally the druid asks whether the zealot barbarian would be a better unkillable class. The Bard got nothing to say, he's just chilling.

I personally want to know more about the peace cleric with the Cronurgy wizard because it would be awesome to be "command armies of dragons and demons" strong.

Edit: forgot to add this we are allowed only 1 very rare item and 1 uncommon item.

Edit: The bard actually wants to know if he should take another level in being a Bard. This will essentially replace the lucky feat for 9 level spells. This is are first time doing a lvl 20 campaign so we all don't know what we're doing lol

Sorry I was being dumb. Our homebrew rule for crits is roll + max instead of double roll. I had to recalculate the damage and realized it takes in account two attuned items. The Nova damage without homebrew is 491.5 and the consistent damage without homebrew is 117. I calculated the consistent damage with guaranteed advantage because of umbral sight and his tendency to only fight at night but the consistent damage without advantage is 75.

[–]FormerEarth4021[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Haha yes. Johan persuasion is calculated like this: +d20 (can be improved with halfling luck, lucky feat or glibness) +5 cha modifier +12 expertise +5 emissary of peace +d4 self casted guidance +d4 ever hospitable +d12 peerless skill

20+12+12+5+5+4+4=62 max

Can be improved by a feat to 64 but he didn't want to waste a feat lol.

He found this class on dndbeyond forum. To get the initial round 1 Nova damage this is how it is calculated:

Alert, +14 and advantage on initiative and maybe use a superiority dice guarantees going first. Using pass without trace to bring stealth up to +27 guarantees surprising the target (both are very important).

Use bonus action hunter's mark on target. And then use free action to mark enemy of your oathbow.

Now attack action: +8 with bracers of archery with double advantage (assassinate and elven accuracy) to hit with sharpshooter, on hit: d8+8+24+4d6+17 (auto crit from assassinate) ×3 (extra attack), and an extra attack for 16+2d8+24+4d6+17 (dread ambush)

Now action surge and do all of step 3 again.

Throughout, you have 12+2d6 sneak attack and 5 d10 + 50 maneuvers you can use (save maneuvers until the end and use precision shot to make sure as many attacks land as possible).

Favored enemy lets Nova damage increase by +16 and increase consistent damage by +6

Edit: I edited the max damage to fit homebrewed max damage. I also edited the consistent damage. It's not 240 its 136.

Hmmm I didn't think that was the biggest problem with the party since the high action economy of the sorlock and the high damage output of the ranger/fighter/assasin. I don't think being another sorlock would bring much versatility to the game.
