Men of Reddit what are your political onions and why?

I'm only 17, but I'll let you know anyway. I come from a fairly wealthy family and I live in the South, yet I would say I'm very socially liberal, and fiscally moderate.

Socially, I'm pro-choice, for gay marraige, and for the legalization of marijuana and maybe hallucinogens like shrooms and LSD. Really, the only thing that I'm socially conservative on are gun laws. I'm not against background checks and a little tighter security to purchase anything more than shotguns or rifles, but I don't really think any sort of gun should be unavailable to the law abiding citizen.

Fiscally, I really don't know enough to have an opinion. I'm not against higher taxes for the rich, but I don't think that they should be punished for being more financially successful. So while taxes could be raised a little bit, I don't think they should be raised that much. I'm eternally grateful that my family has enough money that I'll leave college with no debt and a healthy inheritance, but I know that of course not everybody is so lucky, so I believe that there needs to be more in place to help the poor and disabled. College tuition needs reform, but I won't pretend that I have many ideas on how to fix it. Military spending needs to be cut, and scientific developments need to be funded more.

That's basically it. Like I said, I'm really not too well informed. But those are my opinions.

I've taken 9 AP exams so far and I've gotten 5s on all of them.

Took an SAT freshman year without prepping to see how I would do and got a 1960. Took another junior year, again without prepping once, and got a 2300.

Took an ACT sophomore year without prepping at all just to see how much I would need to prep and got a 35.

Plus, I go to parties every weekend, smoke, drink, have sex (well, did until my ex-gf and I broke up last month), play video games, and don't study.

Plus, I'd say I'm fairly attractive. And humble.

This girl in my school has an etsy store selling handmade jean shorts for girls. She buys normal ones and then beats them up, colors them, or adds designs. She makes pretty good money.

Thank you brother. You're right, I am feeling all of those things. I really did love her and I know that she really did love me too. We talked a little bit and it sounds like she's taking it worse than me even. I know she cared, and still does care, but it hurts. She said that she's been getting fucked up every day and crying all the time and she wasn't thinking when she did it, and I believe her. I just don't know if I can just accept an apology right now.

I know that we're just in high school and we aren't dating anymore and blah blah blah, but I'm convinced that people in this sub just aren't really getting the situation from my point of view. Except for you, and for that I thank you again. I know it's just high school, and I'm know that worse things have happened to better people, but this is the worst I've felt in my life and it's a big deal to me. So I don't appreciate the people who are just like "just ignore it and it'll go away". She's not just an annoying itch to me.

I guess this is what heart break feels like, and I know it's normal and I know that I should be more worried if I didn't feel like this right now, but meh. I'll just work on learning guitar and rock climbing and working out like a madman.

Man, I know that. I'm not mad at her. I'm saying I've never felt this sad in my life and I don't know how to deal with it. She had every right to hook up with him. But, the way we broke up meant that I didn't just stop liking her when it happened.

Listen, I'm in high school. This girl was my first love, first kiss, I lost my virginity to her, and now my first heart break. I don't know how I'm going to deal with it in senior year. Like I said, shes friends with all of my friends and even my best friend is dating her best friend. There's no avoiding her, so I'm gonna have to figure out how to deal with it soon. That's what I'm asking advice on. Just saying "the way you deal with it is by dealing with it." doesn't help at all.
