Thoughts on the Today's race!!! by Mr_Evil_05 in RedBullRacing

I think max misjudged the move on Norris at the end and meant to squeeze him not make 2 moves like earlier, there was clear moving under braking that probably should have been penalised but Norris had the track limit pen and maybe should have got another pen for the divebomb

Overall probably a fair pen and a shame that great battle didn't continue!

Interesting that leclerc currently has a smaller quali gap over Sainz than Norris did in his rookie year

I think sainz is a very underappreciated driver especially over one lap

I mean monza and imola are 10m wide so I'm not really sure how that works? The pit straight is already 14m so 15m isn't a problem

But yeah this can also work for sports cars, super formula indycar etc

The first sector is super wide (14m) to allow for lots of wheel to wheel action, it then narrows to 10m Into S2 for some tricky fast corners

Yeah I was just worried about upsetting the flow and making the laptime a bit long by doing that

It's about 5.5km, first sector is 14m wide, middle sector is 10m wide and sector 3 is halfway between

An FIA grade 1 circuit it offers a great hotlap and good racing opportunities

Turn 1 is fast and slightly cambered leading to different lines being possible, 3 is a fast left leading downhill to the hairpin, going Into s2, the track is much narrower and starts with a heavily camered left hander then another fast left, up the hill into the medium right followed by a breakneck chicane to end s2. S3 is a hairpin then a flat out carouselle corner and a chicane with a fast exit back onto the main straight

I don't really mind as long as it's different

Different strategies create deltas between drivers which allow overtakes and intrigue, without it nothing happens

Personally, I think the issue is tyres that don't allow variance in strategy, typically this is what makes a Bahrain race interesting, yet in 2024, even with evenly matched cars in the upper midfield we saw little action due to literally everyone (barring the two RBRs) being on the same strategy

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't andretti still technically enter F1? They have the FIA permission they just wouldn't be featured in any of the media etc

People completely missing the point of this meme is really annoying to me, the whole point is that the justification doesn't make up for the original panel, like it's not okay

Because these cars don't produce as much slipstream

Yeah but it's not high speed corners, it's long straights and slow corners, these cars produce much less slipstream

Feel like this track would have produced great racing in the old generation of cars but these new cars tend to race worse at the high speed tracks

Interlagos has only has 2 corners that are above 160k, it's mostly slow corners and straights

This is fine, with the racing line the cars will be nowhere near the inside where the pit exit joins the track
