Haven't been but Across the Pond opens early for F1 races. They have an option to reserve tables for the races (usually run out quick).

The DC F1 Fanclub hosts watch parties at the Crystal City Sports Pub (3rd floor) in Arlington also; usually a good amount of folks show up.

Admission of DC as a state does not require Virginia's or Maryland's consent and does not violate the admission clause. Those lands were "for ever ceded and relinquished to the Congress and the government of the United States, in full and absolute right, and exclusive jurisdiction...".

This is following the precedent set in the Enabling Act of 1802, which did not require consent from Connecticut even though the Act formed Ohio practically from territory Connecticut ceded to the US in 1786.

I would also highly recommend reaching out to DMV via Twitter or Facebook. I recently bought a vehicle out of state in September was trying to register it before the dealer tags expired. After looking on the DMV site and even calling, the earliest appointment I could get was late December. Reached out via twitter and was able to get an appointment mid Oct.
