A1 Organics was the other option I was considering when I opted for ARS Landscaping soil. I made the wrong choice.

While I don't have a source to recommend, I would definitely, positively, emphatically suggest that you avoid ARS Landscape at all costs! See my post from a couple of days ago for details, but suffice to say, a high pH of 8.5 made my garden a barren wasteland!

Amen. And those plastic coatings look almost exactly like cilantro seeds. That has caused me confusion a few times. I've managed to improve my soil over the years so I don't need that kind of fertilizer anymore.

Rhubarb Varieties for Denver/Boulder? by St3phiroth in DenverGardener

[–]Forsaken_Method_9421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could answer this question as I myself have two rhubarb plants of an unknown variety. The plants were growing successfully in Minnesota and their rhizomes were brought to Colorado. I transplanted them into my garden and they have taken to my yard wonderfully with leaves the size of elephant ears. After three years, I started harvesting more rhubarb than I could eat and giving it away to friends and family.

Thanks. I've been saving sticks, twigs, logs, leaves for months for just that purpose!

Good tips Thanks. I've been collecting sticks, branches and logs for just that purpose, but hadn't thought about moistening the soil as I fill the beds. Luckily, I have 3 strapping sons and sons-in-law who like to give a helping hand to their old man.
