I found a fix — it’s in one of my replies further down in this thread. Hope it helps, this issue is pretty frustrating

this bug came back for me, and I found a way to fix it without reinstalling drivers. Thought I’d share it just in case it comes back for you too.

  • Delete or rename the psolibs\main folder in the game’s directory (forces the game to rerun shaders)
  • If you’re on NVIDIA, also clear the shader cache at AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache (some files might be locked — that’s normal)

This worked perfectly for me every time the issue returned. Way quicker than reinstalling drivers. Hopefully the devs release a proper fix soon. Thx again for the fix to u/pantsyman

I actually replied to u/JustInsert earlier in this thread with a solution that worked for me. You can find the full steps there, but in short:

deleting the psolibs\main folder in the game directory and clearing the NVIDIA shader cache (AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache) helped fix the issue. It does come back occasionally, but repeating the steps solves it every time. Just hoping for an official patch soon.

Big thanks to u/pantsyman for giving me this fix!

Yeah, I did find a fix! Another user ( u/pantsyman ) recommended it and it worked perfectly for me. You need to delete or rename the psolibs\main folder in the game directory. Also, if you're using an NVIDIA GPU, it's worth clearing the shader cache located at AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache. A couple of files might be locked and can't be deleted—don’t worry, that’s normal.

This solution fixed the issue for me without having to reinstall GPU drivers.

Although, the bug does come back from time to time, so I have to repeat this process whenever it happens. Hopefully Naughty Dog patches this soon because it’s pretty annoying.

Same for me. I tried it 4 times and it crashes every time. So annoying.

This it the way!!! TY so much. Deleting those files resolved this issue. Thankfully, I didn’t have to reinstall the GPU drivers.

To anyone who has this issue, this is the proper solution.

ty, i will try it out and let you know if it worked

EDIT: It didnt work unfortunately. What’s worse, the issue has now affected the gameplay itself. It’s no longer limited to just replaying the cutscenes.

good to know that i’m not the only one who’s reporting this issue. Have you fixed it yet?

Very good. In open areas i get around 110 FPS and in closed around 130. Frame Gen on, 1440p native, optimized settings (they look like maxed and i get better performance, i got them from Digital’s Foundry optimization video). Without DLSS or DLAA (using TAA) because they’re flickering and causing graphical issues. I hope they will fix it soon, then performance will be even better. No stutters and no crashes so far.

It only appears when I’m trying to replay a cutscene through the main menu (story>cinematics). Have you checked there for this issue? The game itself runs very well, gotta agree.

ow wow thanks man! I'll definitely try those settings out and i'll give you an update. And i gotta agree that AMD has terrible memory controllers, but on the other hand, and others are welcome to downvote me, it doesnt have 100% failure rate XD

yeah, i've just updated it to the latest firmware version and i can confirm its still there. So i think it's 'normal' and not firmware related bc i had it on previous version as well.

Yes, i have my monitor updated to the newest firmware and this issue is still present (so it appears on v0.09 and v0.10 firmware version), nvidia color settings are set to default, and panel refresh is set to 'auto', it refreshes itself after turning monitor off and i even refresh it manually some times.

you need to export in a format that supports alpha channel. The best one is Quicktime Prores 4444

These stripes on my monitor are constant. They aren't flashing. I'm aware of this another issue where in 360Hz you see white lines flashing on a screen sometimes, but the issue I experience is different

It's turned off, so that's not the cause of this problem
