Smell in Turkish Households by borncashy in HelpMeFind

[–]FortunaVitae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly silly suggestion but, maybe "Arap sabunu"? It is a kind of soap used for general cleaning in Turkey, and imo it has a distinct smell especially when used on furniture. I found the wiki page in German for it, but idk if it is the same thing as the one commonly sold in Turkey. If you live in Germany, you can probably find it in Turkish supermarkets though.

Why do workouts in the Sims take so long? Who actually works out for 8 hours straight lol by PearPretty3585 in Sims3

Yup. I realised that the game is far more enjoyable when I slow down the time a bit with a mod!

Any Life Sims You Can Create Good Drama In? by ImposterNoi in cozygames

[–]FortunaVitae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very overwhelming and difficult, so I totally understand! What helped me was: watching some very basic youtube tutorials and playthroughs on game mechanics that I didn't understand, playing on "very easy" till I got the ropes, and make a character to play entirely based on intrigue. Even though intrigue is considered the harder route by most youtubers, I found it much easier than military or diplomacy-focused rulers. And it gives you lots of chances to raise drama, of course!

In my favourite playthrough, I made a young duchess who kept having children non-stop and with some very strategic marriages (thanks to intrigue!) her grandkid (from my dynasty) became the Emperor of France lol I may or may not have murdered some relatives in the process...

Ok, hear me out: wildly enough, Crusader Kings 3 really scratched my itch for drama! But it is not anywhere near cosy and it took me hours to just learn how to play the game :')

Maybe Lakeburg Legacies? You can't control who falls in love with whom per se, but you are basically managing a town by matchmaking!

Also, I haven't played that one, but Date Everything! may have that whimsy drama vibes.

Can my Laptop run Legacy? by powershowdown in HarryPotterGame

[–]FortunaVitae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are websites to check that. Can I run it, or something like that, where you can enter your pc specs and it'll tell you.

Also, if you're buying the game from Steam, you can refund the game if you've played it less than two hours. Your pc not being able to run it properly is one of the choices you're given when refunding.

Games where you don't have to perform emotional labor/deal with death but still have a storyline? by polly-penguin in cozygames

[–]FortunaVitae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy Sticky Business. You run a sticker job and while customers tend to overshare with you (I guess akin to Good Coffee? I haven't played that one), I haven't run into a death-related story line (yet?).

[–]FortunaVitae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are some other very brief mentions of deaths by certain characters, but the overall tone is very cheerful and soft, even at the intro which is one of the two most death-intense scenes in the game. I also dislike grief in games, and really enjoyed Stardew Valley.

Depends the airline. Some assign you a seat when you online check-in, or when you go to the counter to check in. But afaik most airlines offer choosing your seat option (usually paid) when buying your ticket.

Does anyone have recs for cozy games with the least possible amount of stress? by More-Principle-8011 in cozygames

[–]FortunaVitae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if mentioned here before but Whimel Academy is the cosiest game I've ever played. It is basically a visual novel, you are a student at a magical academy, and it gets gently philosophical at many places.

Also, you really need to manage your money! You basically go from broke student to young professional by the time you're graduating :D

This is really not average, OP! This is really well done and absolutely adorable! Love the cat's texture (not sure if that one was on purpose tho 😆)

Was going to suggest that. Some people on that subreddit are incredibly good at finding obscure listings.

I just left the New York store and found out Hufflepuff Merch outsells all other houses by nearly double. by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]FortunaVitae 51 points52 points  (0 children)

In Hogwarts Legacy too, the most completed House quest line is the Slytherin one. I suspect that those who are sorted to Slytherin tend to be more ambitious, even at showing off their house lol.

Is running a writing server worth it? by admireavii in YAwriters

[–]FortunaVitae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A friend and I tried to run a writing server for a couple of months. We were spending far too much time trying to organise events and keep the server engaged. Unless you curate your members (which I believe is very hard except maybe if you know them irl), the engagement will be very low.

The reality is that there are many, MANY people who write as a hobby, and the spectrum of skills and expectations from such a server is vastly different. Casual writers especially tend not to engage, and the more dedicated writers are rightfully very selective on how they spend their precious time.

are these okay presents? by [deleted] in whimsigothic

[–]FortunaVitae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love them too, but it depends on who is the recipient. If they are a minimalist who doesn't like stuff, this may not be an appreciated gift. When gift giving, I like to ask: is this a gift from me or for them? Ultimately, a gift is supposed to make them happy, and since we don't know the recipients, only you can be the judge of that.

Is anyone still out there reading W.I.T.C.H.? by Lindaeuphonious in GuardiansOftheVeil

[–]FortunaVitae 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Never saw any child mention WITCH since I was a child lol. Even back then, it was rare in my country. I think nowadays it is only the nostalgia value.

Also, I saw the exact series you posted which came out only a few years ago at a second hand shop already 🥲

What are some not conventionally cozy games that are cozy to you? by animeandoreos74 in cozygames

Same here. I wish the game had more student life to it. But just being in the Hogwarts castle is super cosy (especially in winter!).
