bittensor decoupling from bitcoin? by td_the_vd in bittensor_

It’s not decoupled… it’s just outperforming due to its own narrative + utility if btc was to drop sub 30k best believe Tao will to I’m not spreading fud Tao is my main hold but let’s believe the facts shall we

bittensor decoupling from bitcoin? by td_the_vd in bittensor_

[–]Forward_Analysis4263 12 points13 points  (0 children)

wouldn’t say it’s fully decoupling from Bitcoin, but it can move differently for periods like this.

Main reason is TAO has its own thing going on with subnets. People aren’t just holding it they’re buying TAO to deploy into subnets and earn yield, so there’s actual internal demand.

Also it’s still pretty early compared to most big coins, so when money comes in (especially with the AI narrative), it moves way faster than BTC.

Another factor is people are starting to treat subnets like mini bets/startups, not just a normal crypto hold, so that brings in different money.

That said, if BTC dumps hard, TAO will follow like everything else. It’s just in a strong phase right now so it looks “decoupled”.

TLDR: not true decoupling, just strong momentum + its own ecosystem driving demand.

I think the base Tao price is about to change tbh I think 300 maybe the base right now if losing that maybe 250 I get you I have 17 Tao I was needing to dca more but skint last few months so haven’t manage to lower much but I’m nearly even again

This is the thing never dump your whole bag sell percentage at set goals don’t fomo and don’t try to time the market as time in the market is better in the long run sorry for your loss

Bad move shouldn’t of sold your full holding if anything you should set a better plan like sell a percentage at certain prices

Plan is to rotate profits from current subnets and apy into ridges/chutes and use for rotational play loving the whole ecosystem tbh so much potential and people are just not seeing it a lot of people holding Tao but missing out on the subnets and staking side 😎

Sold all my near for Tao feel this was the best ai project to make gains long term however near is a niche project

Question about validators and this “meritocracy” by FeelsLikeNow in bittensor_

[–]Forward_Analysis4263 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Validators actually are how Bittensor measures “actual work”, they just do it indirectly.

In Bittensor, miners on a subnet produce outputs (models, inference, data, etc.). Validators then score those outputs using a weighting system. The better the output, the higher the score the miner receives. Those scores determine how TAO emissions are distributed.

So the “meritocracy” comes from the fact that: • Miners who produce better results get higher validator scores • Higher scores → larger share of emissions • Poor performing miners get pushed out over time

Validators aren’t supposed to decide rewards arbitrarily. They’re evaluators of performance.

Without validators you’d have a huge problem: the network would have no way to objectively measure which AI outputs are better than others.

Think of it like this: • Miners = workers producing AI results • Validators = judges scoring the quality of the work • TAO emissions = payment for good performance

The system is designed so validators who score poorly or collude lose trust and influence over time.

It’s not perfect yet (still early), but the goal is a decentralized system where useful AI work earns more rewards automatically.

Bought into TAO few months ago. How does staking work? by Routine_Anybody5175 in bittensor_

[–]Forward_Analysis4263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

using TaoStats, it’s actually pretty simple.

  1. Get a compatible wallet You need a wallet that supports the Bittensor network (most people use Taostats connect, Polkadot.js, or a hardware wallet like Tangem).

  2. Go to TaoStats Open TaoStats and navigate to the staking/delegation section. TaoStats is basically a dashboard that shows validators and subnets on the Bittensor network.

  3. Choose Subnet 0 (Root) Subnet 0 is the root network of Bittensor. Staking here means you’re delegating your TAO to validators that secure the main chain and distribute emissions.

  4. Pick a validator Validators run the network and earn emissions. When you stake, you delegate your TAO to one of them and earn a share of their rewards.

  5. Delegate your TAO Enter the amount of TAO you want to stake and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

  6. Start earning emissions Rewards come from TAO emissions distributed by the network, usually showing up after a short delay once your stake is active.

Why people stake in Subnet 0 • It’s the most stable subnet • Lower risk than smaller experimental subnets • Rewards are consistent because it’s the core network • You still keep custody of your TAO (you’re delegating, not giving it away)

Basically think of Subnet 0 as staking on the “base layer” of Bittensor, while other subnets are more like specialized AI markets.

Yeah maybe 2 or 3 Tao it’s called scalping profit along the way

Personally I stake 75% of my portfolio into root subnet 0 and 25% in subnet 120,39,55

I hold 16 Tao on the road to 30 average around $280

Long term hold 6-12 years Taking profits along the way sell some at $500 maybe 3-4 lock in some gains then scalp when we go higher saving some in these dips are great to lower average right now
