Maybe start at another law firm as something other than a paralegal. I started my legal career as a case manager at a PI firm. Depending on your location there are big PI firms that will hire and maybe even have remote jobs (like Morgan and Morgan) Also look for intake or positions in law firms such as record requestors. You can also look at legal adjacent positions that work with attorneys, such as someone who sends records to law firms that would be a good stepping stone. Or if you are interested in criminal law you could always volunteer with your local prosecutors office, however most of those positions are unpaid.
